Dynasty P.O.V

From the moment I woke up something about today felt fishy. Kinda figured it was just a little hang over from my night on the town with Ronnie, and brushed it off.

***
It was 6:30 on a Wednesday morning, I had just finished setting up the salon and preparing for my appointments. Brookie was already off to school and the reports from the clubs were well pleasing.

The early birds chirp at the flashing of the open sign as the aroma therapy candles refreshed the air.

The bells chimed as the door swung open drawing my attention.

"Hey lady, what's on the board?" Redd begins assembling her station quicker than usual.

I exhale, for the first time in a while.

"Same ole , same ole. We got a couple new kids on the books; some girlies from Brookie's school."

"Oh that's dope. Godbaby bringin' in some clientele!" She laughs.

A smile creeped on my face.

"I mean, she is mah baby."

"Oh uh. Speaking of babies." She brought her shoulders up to her ears in defense.

"LaToya, You better not be pregnant."

I stretched the braiding hair for my first head.

"Girl please! I was just hopin' you wouldn't mind if Raeya sat in today. You know Rio gotta check in at the L.A Club, It slipped mah mind I ain't get a chance ta see if mah mom could keep her and daycare closed."

"Oh is it log day already!?"

"Uh yeah." She looked around.

"Man, Mah fault sis. I created it and can't keep up. I got so much goin' on." I admit. "But yeah of course you know how we do. And let me know when Rio touch down so I can check em in his room."

She let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks sis. You know you really make this partnership thang easy!"

We laughed.

"It should be easy. Y'all been mah back bones from the first blue print. If I eat, y'all eat." I shrug.

The door chimed again, and all my ladies on payroll started falling in position.

"I was wondering when y'all was gone show up." I joke, but not really.

I always give my absolute best to clientele and the team, So I expect the best in return.

"I'm sorry boss lady, baby daddy was late getting the kids again." Tamika defends.

"Yeah mine too." La'Chelle shrugs.

I politely shake my head.
