"Brooke! Let's goo!" I shouted up the stairs from the living room. "Ya mama gone kill me if you late." I say rather to myself.

"I'm coming Daddy! Greatness takes timee!" She shouts back.

I laugh, counting all the times I heard that line from her mama.

Today, my baby gurl marks seven years. It's crazy how time flies. Seems like it was only yesterday when I held her in my arms for the first time.

I gotta be honest, spending everyday with her has reminded me the true value of time. I mean, I got a chance to make up for lost time. Most men don't get that, so I don't take it lightly.

"Ok daddy, check me out." She came running down the stairs striking a pose.

I laugh in awe.

"Gorgeous." I smile admiring the little masterpiece I created.

"You ready lady?" I ask grabbing my keys.

"Oh I'm always ready." She giggled, dashing out the door.

Oh, child of mine..

Dynasty P.O.V
I can't believe my baby is seven years old. Where did the time even go? Before I know it, maybe she'll be headed off to college and building her brand on her own. Or worse. She'll be married and tossing me in a nursing home.

"Drizzy, baby I think that's enough balloons." Mommy laughs from the kitchen, where she added the finishing touches to the side-dishes that she had prepped last night.

"Mommy it's Brooklyn, It's never enough balloons." I debate, taping more balloons to my parent's door post.

"She's seven, how many balloons can she need?" L.c attempts to antagonize me.

"Excuse you, mah baby is the face of little black girl beauty supply, far as I'm concerned she can have as many balloons as she wants!" I argue before coming to the conclusion that it was officially enough.

I gather the pile of empty balloon packages, throwing them away before admiring my masterpiece.

I smile in satisfaction.

Of course, Brooklyn being her own brand, could've had any arrangement for her party that she wanted. But August and I both agreed that this time around it should be simple and family oriented. That way even with all that she has, she won't forget where she comes from.

We rallied up the troops and planned a good old fashion house party at my parent's place and invited Aug's side of her family to join us.

I mean, nothing brings a family together like a back yard barbecue. And with all that we been through, I think it's long over due.

It was only a little after four and Brooklyn's party was slowing coming to an end.
