"So the marriage of Laxman and Urmila was finalized. And as per the wish of Shri Ram Vishwamitra also kept the offer of Bharat and Shatrughan for Mandavi and Shrutkirti." Krishna said.
"And due to the persuasion of Vishwamitra, neither Maharaj Janak nor Maharaj Dashrath would've denied it." Yudhishthir said.
"Correctly said Jyesht. Now the only thing left was the barat to arrive at Mithila." Krishna said.
------
While Mithila was getting ready to welcome the barat, Ayodhya was getting ready to welcome the Kul-vadhus of Raghukul.
Kaushalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi were decorating the entire palace. They weren't able to contain their happiness.
"Jiji, I cannot wait to welcome the wives of our sons." Sumitra said.
"Me too. Every passing moment seems to be getting longer and longer. I just hope Maharaj brings our sons and daughter-in-law as quickly as possible." Kaushalya said.
"He will." An old shrieking voice said.
The three queens of Dashrath look and saw the old woman with a hunchback coming towards them, walking with the help of the stick.
"Maharaj cannot stay stay away from his beloved queen Kaikeyi." Manthara said.
"Stop it Manthara." Kaikeyi said.
"What ? Cannot tell the truth now ? Huh !" Manthara scoffed.
"Did you do what I asked you to ?" Kaikeyi asked.
"Yes I did. I beautifully decorated the bhavan of Bharat, I am sure that his wife will be most beautiful, graceful and glorious." Manthara said.
"Did you decorate the room of the other princes ?" Kaikeyi asked.
"No. Why would I ? You asked me to decorate room of your son." Mathara said with a disgusted expression.
"Uff ! Evil-minded one ! I had asked you decorate the rooms of all my sons !" Kaikeyi scolded.
"It's okay Kaikeyi jiji, Manthara must've failed to understand you." Sumitra said.
"No Sumitra, this is not forgivable. She always undermines Laxman, Shatrughan and my dear Ram Chandra." Kaikeyi said.
"Don't get angry on such an auspicious occasion Kaikeyi. Forgive Manthara. Me and Sumitra will decorate the room of Ram, Laxman and Shatrughan." Kaushalya said.
"No Jiji, this is a fault on my side. I myself will decorate the room of my sons Ram, Laxman and Shatrughan." Kaikeyi said.
Manthara kept looking at Kaikeyi and shook her head. The old woman didn't like how this beloved queen of Dashrath favoured Shri Ram over her son Bharat.
On the other side in Mithila, Shankhnad and Shehnais were blown as Maharaj Dashrath, Guru Vasisht, Bharat and Shatrughan reached the palace.
Janak welcomed his samdhi, Dashrath by putting a tilak on his forehead and then both the kings exchanged garlands as a form of respect, and hugged each other. Both were unable to contain their happiness.
In her room, Janki along with her sisters were getting ready when Malvika came to their room.
"Attention everyone ! The barat has come !" Malvika said.
Listening to that a red tint appeared on the cheeks of the 4 ladies.
"Whom all did you see in barat ?" Janki asked.
"I saw the glorious Suryavanshi Maharaj Dashrath and the pious Guru Vashisht ! Behind them I saw two young gentlemen, one looked like Raghuvar Ram and the other looked like Sumitranandan. I am sure they are Kaikeyi-nandan Bharat and younger Soumitra Shatrughan." Malvika said.
"H-How did Kaikeyi-nandan look like ?" Mandavi asked blushing.
"Just like Raghuvar Ram, he was dark skinned and curly haired. He seemed as glorious as the mighty Sudarshan Chakra." Malvika said.
"And how did younger Sumitranandan look like ?" Shrutkirti asked.
"He looked like Rajkumar Laxman, light skinned in complexion. He seemed as pure and pious like the panchjanya shankh of Bhagwan Vishnu." Malvika said.
Mandavi and Shrutkirti looked at each other and sighed in bliss while Janki, Urmila and Malvika chuckled seeing them.
