Janki was lost in the deep penance sitting in Padmasan. Shri Ram was making arrows while Laxman paced back and forth, making sure nothing breaks the penance of Janki.
Above in the sky the daughter of Maharishi Vishrav and Kaikeshi, Shurpnakha was flying. She was looking for the killer of her son Shambri, her heart was burning for revenge.
"Who must've killed my son !?" Shurpnakha looked here and there.
And then her to eyes fell on the cottage of Shri Ram, where he was sharpening the blade of his arrows.
"A warrior man ? Could he have killed my son ? No. How can he ? He is a young looking man. He seems to be the incarnation of Kaamdev." Shurpankha muttered seeing him.
Shurpankha came down and hid behind a tree to see him from a closer distance.
"He is so attractive.... He is the form of attraction.... I cannot take my eyes off of him. Not even Kaamdev can rival against him. That's it ! I want him !" Shurpankha said.
She looked down at herself and then at him. Shurpankha frowned as her demon form was not the one that will attract him. Closing her eyes and chanting few mantras she took on a form which was more beautiful than that of Apsaras.
Swaying her hips gracefully she made her way to the hut and went straight in front of Shri Ram, becoming speechless for a moment as he looked at her and stood up.
"My search ends today ! In this world I never found a man who was worthy of me. That's why I was unmarried till now, but won't remain one for long." Shurpankha lied.
She took a step towards him but Shri Ram backed away, maintaining the respectful distance.
"Devi, you are ?" Shri Ram asked her introduction.
"I am Shurpankha, the sister of Lankesh Ravan. You are very fortunate, I will keep you happy ! Who are you vanvasi ? What is your name ?" Shurpankha asked.
"I am son of Swargiya Maharaj Dashrath of Ayodhya, Ram." He said.
"Can sons of kings be saints ? But such a handsome saint can only be my husband. Marry me Ram !" Shurpankha said.
"Kumari Shurpankha, I am already married. That one over there, performing penance and austerities is my dear wife Sita. I have taken the vow of ek-patni vrat." Shri Ram said.
