Hogwarts Fanfiction: The Beginning

CHAPTER FORTY THREE

Nora and Adelaide had wondered where Penelope had gone. It wasn't unusual that Penelope had disappeared for a few hours and then there is noise in the hall after Sprout, Binns, Snape, and Flitwick leave classes. Nora had been able to leave charms. Addie left potions. They met at the Hufflepuff entrance. Together they wondered what Penelope might be doing. They hadn't seen her the past night or been with her at Astronomy.

Nora thought aloud, "Maybe she went to Diagon Alley again. During Astronomy I did see flames in the distance – maybe as far as the station."

"No, we know Penelope better than that," Adelaide suggested, shrugging off Nora's mention of Penelope using floo powder again. "Her floo powder was confiscated by Flitwick. He took it when she was gone – at least it wasn't there."

"Penelope probably took some first year with the floo powder. It makes sense that she took a first year," Nora said, happily.

"Why? Why does it make sense?" Addie sighed shaking her head.

"Because another first year Ravenclaw has shown up. Penelope must have been paid a lot," Nora suggested. "After how much detention she got from the last one, she must've demanded payment."

They heard voices in the Great Hall and crouched at the door, their ears were glued to the door. They heard punishments from different teachers and heard the Zoey girl. Before they heard anything important Zoey and Grace left the room followed by Penelope who circled back to where they were.
