Lilian was wandering through the halls with Sabine. She felt like she was letting down her mum. She got sorted into Slytherin instead of Gryffindor. She looked at the green on her robes. It should be red, but I don't really care anymore, she thought.

Sabine meowed at the clock on the wall. Lilian looked; her next class was in 3 minutes! She went to her dorm to get her things and headed to the transfiguration classroom.

She couldn't pay attention in class. She just thought about how she should be a Gryffindor, how she was letting her mum down, and how she just shouldn't be here. Her wand didn't work properly, it was as if it had a mind of its own.

Sabine was sitting on her lap as Lilian mispronounced spells. She was struggling in most of her classes, probably because this was her mum's wand, not hers. She just tried her best to do well in her classes, so she wouldn't let anyone else down.

As she was walking through the hallway after class, a seventh-year girl and all her friends saw her.

"Hey, nice ghost cat!" She said sarcastically.

One of her friends chimed in. "Is your wand almost broken already?!"

Everyone surrounding her laughed.

Another girl grabbed the wand and snapped it in half. "Oopsie! Sorry ghost cat girl!"

They all walked away laughing. Lilian felt tears prick her eyes.
