Techno POV

"Is he going to be okay?" Techno asked, sparing a glanced at the doctor. He needed to know that Tommy okay.

"Thomas-" the man began.

"Tommy." Wilbur corrected, exchanging a look with Techno. Both of them were thinking the exact same thing. Only one person ever called him Thomas. And they never wanted to think of that man ever again.

"Tommy." the man nodded, clearly noting the discomfort between the two. "Tommy should make a full recovery-" he began, flipping through the pages in his clipboard. Techno let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding. "Well, physically at least. Mentally, it might take a bit longer."

"What do you mean?" Techno asked, feeling worry claw into his chest.

"I'm worried for his mental state. He will most likely have horrible nightmares from this incident. They probably won't go away for a long time." the doctor explained, sympathy dripping from his face. "And the nightmares will probably get worse before they get better. That's usually how these cases go."

"We'll help him through it." Wilbur said firmly, not taking his eyes off Tommy.

The man pauses, studying the two teens before continuing. He opened his mouth to say something before deciding to change his words. "Of course." he sighed, adding, "The only serious injury he had was the gash in his head. But we managed to stitch it up without any problems, it should go away with time."

"How much longer until he's free to go?" Techno questioned, glancing briefly at the clock. He didn't want to be here any longer than he had to be. And he was sure Tommy didn't want to either.

"Just a few more hours." the doctor replied, commenting, "The police will be here soon to figure out a safe place for you guys. So just sit tight and you'll be home in no time." He offered a slight smile before leaving the room, allowing the brothers to be alone.

Techno sighed, not wanting to worry about that right now. He tried to focus on Tommy, going back to combing his fingers through his hair in the hopes that it would give Tommy as much comfort as it gave him. Tommy seemed to relax at his touch, making his heart melt. Shaking his head, he couldn't help but think back to their father. How could he hurt Tommy like this? It wasn't fair.

"What do you think is going to happen?" Wilbur suddenly asked, biting his nails. His mind was clearly else where, with his eyes glued to the bed.

Techno turned to him, wondering what he could possibly be thinking about. "What-" but he stopped as it hit him. Wilbur was afraid he was right. Let out a sigh, Techno knew he couldn't lie. "I don't know." he admitted, not wanting to think of his worst fears coming true.

"Do-do you really think they're going to take us away from you? Away from each other?" his voice cracked, wavering with panic. It was clear that it was Wilbur's biggest fears too. To wake up one day without his brothers by his side.

"We'll figure it out." Techno promised, meeting his brown eyes with his own. "I'll fight for you guys, you know that."

"But what if you were right? What if it's not enough? What if I never see you again?" his breathing was getting faster and faster, the panicked thoughts only fueling his panic further. Realizing what was happening, Techno rushed to his aid.

"Hey relax, alright? Nothing's been decided yet. Breathe Wil, breathe." he spoke, using his monotone voice to hide the panic he felt. Whether it worked or not, he wasn't sure. Gently, he took Wilbur's hand and placed it on his heart, hoping the sound might calm him down a bit. "That's it, in and out, in and out." h e continued, relieved to find Wilbur beginning to regain control of his breathing again. Wilbur collapsed in his arms and Techno was quick to pull him tight to his chest. "I won't let them take you or Tommy." he murmured, meaning every word he said. He wouldn't give them up. Not ever.

A soft knock echoed in the room, causing them both to look up quickly. Two figures entered, dressed in police uniforms.

Techno couldn't help but panic at the sight of them. Were they coming to take his brothers away? On instinct, he tightened his grip on Wilbur, making sure he was safe in his arms.

They were not taking Wilbur away from him.
