Techno POV

The days went by slowly and life didn't get any better. At least not like Techno had expected. In fact, it actually got worse. Techno went back to stealing on a daily basis, trying to support his brothers the best he could. Wilbur still refused to say a word to him, disappearing for hours at a time. But worst of all, Tommy got weaker. And that sickness came back, taking his energy with it.

That was the only reason Wilbur stayed longer. He took it upon himself to look after the boy. Giving his water and keeping him company. He tried to keep Tommy's hopes up. But Tommy only seemed to grow worse.

Techno paced out of Tommy's view, biting his fingernails until they bled. He only looked up at Wilbur walking towards him. "Is he any better?" he questioned, but he knew what to expect. They look on his face said it all.

Wilbur sighed, his face blank. "No, that illness he had before is back. And it's worse than before."

"I can-" Techno began, but the brunette cut him off immediately.

Wilbur stared at him, "When will you admit it?" His eyes never left Techno's face, daring him to say the wrong thing. He had no problem bringing back the curse of isolation.

"What?"

"We should never have left Phil and Kristin." he stated, believing every word he said.

Techno sighed, turning his back towards him. "That's just your opinion-"

"No, it's the truth and you just don't want to admit it! All of this could have been avoided if you had just listened! Now Tommy's sick and we have no way of treating him. We have no money to our name. And don't forget to mention our food situation." Wilbur exclaimed, glaring at his older brother.

Techno was silent. Deep down he knew his brother was right. He was the cause of everything. But to admit it... he wasn't sure if he could.

"You know I'm right. You knew that the moment they offered us a home!"

"Wil-"

"How could you be so selfish? What happened to protecting us?!" Wilbur demanded, laying down every frustration he had been bottling up.

"Wilbur-"

"You're not the only one who has to live with the consequences of your stubbornness you know."

"WILBUR!"

Wilbur closed his mouth, but his glare didn't lessen. "I'm listening."

Techno sighed, trying to find the right words. "We can't just go back. We-"

The younger groaned, shaking his head in disbelief. "Do you hear yourself?! They said their door was always open? Do you seriously not believe that?"

"Do you?" he retorted.

"For Tommy's sake, yes." Wilbur declared, meaning every word he said.

"Wilbur, you can't just trust everyone-" Again he was cut off, this time quicker.

"So you think we should live on the street instead?! We have nothing left to lose!" He stopped, catching his breath. His face was red with anger. Taking a deep breath, he reported his intentions. "Now, I'm taking Tommy to Phil's-"

"You can't-"

"Watch me." Wilbur snapped, turning his back to Techno.

"Wilbur I need you to trust me." he stepped towards the older, causing the teen to whip around to face him.

"I did trust you. That was a mistake." Then without another word, he stalked towards where Tommy lay. He carefully picked the boy up before heading down the street.

Techno made no move to stop him, his heart breaking. Why did he have to be so stubborn? His brain raced a million miles a second. He had failed them. He had broken his one promise.

Suddenly a hand grabbed him sharply. Words rang through the air, leaving a chill to run down his back.

"Hello Techno."
