The Exception (Narry)

January 12th (Evening)

After school I had planned on heading straight to Harry's house but of course things didn't work out that way. Instead I found myself in my own bedroom as my mother searched through my closet for something for me to wear to the Payne's. Yes, you heard me correctly. We were spending the evening at the Payne's.

"Mum" I groaned "I do not want to go"

As if I would want to go. The last time I spoke to Liam he had a full freak out because I had come out to him.

"Niall, honey, Karen and I have been organizing a dinner forever. I know that you and Liam don't talk anymore but it would mean a lot"

I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. Of course I didn't want to spend the evening at the Payne's and I'd much rather spend my time at Harry's, I just couldn't bring myself to say no to my mother.

"Alright"I smirked slightly to himself as an idea popped into his head "On one condition"

"Anything" Maura smiled.

"I can bring Harry." I smiled proudly as my mum frowned slightly.

"I don't know if that's honestly the best idea Niall"

"C'mon mum, Harry is practically apart of the family" I argued and she sighed.

"Fine, but please behave" This time it was her turn to smirk as I blushed madly.

"Mum! Oh gosh, no!" I hid my face in my hands, her soft giggles surrounding the room.

"I was just messing about Niall, don't get your knickers in a twist"

"I don't even wear knickers mum" I groaned.

"Hush child" I rolled my eyes playfully as she patted my head and left the room.

I wasted no time in calling Harry. God did I miss him.

"Niall!" Harry's voice beamed through the phone "I thought you said you would come over after school...I guess you're calling to tell me you're not coming at all"

I could just imagine the most adorable pout on his face.

"I'm sorry baby! My mum wanted me at home" I sighed "Um, We are going to the Payne's for dinner and you're welcome to join, if you want to of course"

It was silent for a moment and I knew he was thinking. I hoped he'd say yes even though I knew how much he hates Liam.

"Of course" He finally spoke "I'll meet you at yours soon"

"Okay" I smiled, suddenly very excited Harry would be joining and I wouldn't have to face the Payne's alone.

"Okay" He replied before he ended the call.

Now I had to look even better. Of course Harry would tell me I still looked good even if I was just in sweats and a tee but tonight I wanted to look that extra bit better for him.

Mum wanted for me to wear some fancy suit. I knew that Karen was probably making Liam wear one and that was why my mother insisted that I did too. Once again I struggled to say no and texted Harry to let him know to dress formally.

I had a few suites to choose from but I chose my favourite, which honestly made me feel sexy. And I was going to wear it, just for Harry.

After spending extra time making sure my hair looked good and I smelt nice, Harry had finally shown up and let me just tell you, he is one sex god.

Clad in black, from the fedora and shades, to the half-buttoned shirt, drawing the eyes of those who saw him to his bare chest saved for the tattoos spattered across his skin, and the single sterling silver cross pendant suspended on a chain, resting comfortably against his sternum. He was breathtaking to say the least. Every small detail of him was...there were honestly no words for his beauty.

"Hi boo" He smirked, his eyes trailing up and down my body. I suddenly felt self conscious since he looked so gosh darn beautiful compared to me this little pasty blonde kid.

"You look stunning" He stepped in closer, tilting his head to kiss my cheek gently.

God, I really want to do unholy things to this boy.

"Wow, you two look fabulous!" My mum's voice beamed as she greeted Harry with a kiss on the cheek.

"So do you Maura" Harry grinned at my mother.

"Oh stop it you" She laughed "Come on you two, we should get going"

"Okay" I smiled and took Harry's hand in mine as we followed her out to the car.

I felt uneasy as we made our way to the Payne's front door. My hand was sweating as I held on to Harry's tightly. I honestly don't know how he is still willing to hold it, it's actually disgusting.

"Relax baby" Harry whispered in my ear, giving my hand a gentle squeeze as my mum knocked on the door.

We stood quietly for a moment as sounds of movement came from behind the door until Karen finally greeted us with a wide smile.

"Maura! Niall!" She engulfed mum in a hug before briefly hugging me and turning to Harry "I don't believe we have met"

"It's lovely to meet you Mrs Payne" Harry grinned charmingly "I'm Harry Styles, Niall's boyfriend" Harry shook her hand firmly as she continued to smile warmly.

"Boyfriend! Wow congratulations Ni" Karen smiled before stepping aside to welcome us into the house. "Li, should be down in a minute" I felt my body tense at the mention of his name.

Before I could speak the sound of quick footsteps coming down the stairs were heard and eventually stood before me Liam Payne.

He looked the same, just not as babyish and more muscular. He wore a suite with his hair styled up into a small quiff. He looked good.

"Niall" He nodded once, acknowledging my presence "You look ravishing." His words sent shivers down my spine as Harry wrapped his arm tightly around my waist. His actions made my heart race and my feelings only grow stronger for Harry.

"Styles, I didn't think you would be here" Liam raised his eyebrow at the two of us. "You two together or something?"

"Liam, lovely to see you again. Niall and I are together" Harry nodded.

"Well enough introductions, I am starving!" Karen clasped her hands together.

"Me too! Shall we eat?" Mum smiled as her and Karen headed towards the kitchen.

"This is wonderful Karen" Harry smiled, spooning another mouthful of Karen's famous chocolate pudding.

"I'm glad you think so dear" She smiled back at Harry. "So Niall, Liam tells me that you haven't been at school much lately"

Niall shifted in his seat uncomfortably, looking to his mum for help.

"He's been helping out Harry with a few things, still passing all his subjects though" Mum answered for me, smiling at Karen.

"Well then" Karen smiled softly. "I believe we shall call it a night, I have an early shift"

"Yes, I agree" My mum smiled.

"You're welcome to come over anytime Ni" Liam smirked, causing both Harry and I to tense.

"Thanks" I mumbled and walked back out to the car.
