"ILANA?"

"Sorry. What were you saying?" The raven haired beauty faked smiled at the bald man.

"Something in your mind, Mrs. Halsaine?" The middle aged bald man raised an eyebrow at the distant daydreaming women.

Ilana chuckled at the "Mrs" , a bitter taste in her mouth when she heard her refer to someone else's last name. "Kalopsia."

"Excuse me?" He questioned

"It's Ms. Kalopsia... not Mrs. Halsaine." She stated, the bald men looked to his left to his college both sharing a look and side eying the married women. They nodded although at their supposed "mistake".

"Sorry, ma'am." The man muttered, Allen Halsaine who was nearby talking to his coworkers had heard the small talk and he tried his best to seem unbothered. It secretly pained him when his wife that he still cared about mentioned herself as not his.

Eileen Halsaine was leaning on her bathtub, closed eyes, hair up, and enjoying the peaceful silence of the water when the front door of her house slammed shut. Furrowing her eyebrows, she then came to realize her mom and dad were arguing once again when she heard their voices shrieking at each other.

"ILANA!" Allen Halsaine voiced ringed through the house

"What? Jesus f*cking christ Allen leave me the f*ck alone!" Ilana yelled at her husband, she threw her heels to the floor and marched towards the office.

"We have to talk about this. You can't just expect to avoid this topic forever." Allen flared his nostrils, furious towards his wife.

Ilana scoffed , "What so I can be the bad guy because don't you forget Allen you also neglected our daughter for years. Years! So don't bullsh*t me." She narrowed her eyes at him, he who had his hand on his hips and the other on the bridge of his nose.

"Daughter? Ours, she's ours now? When did you ever care that she was yours and using that as an excuse that's low, Ilana. And what about the part that she isn't even mine." Allen bit back angrily, frustrated by her antics.

Eileen couldn't hear what they were talking about and she was tired of hearing them fighting again. Taking a long breath in and out, she submerged herself into the water, eyes closed, as she pretended she was a corpse, at least pretending to be one she could imagine being peaceful.
