Forever Mine

Chapter 3

(Beta Luke's Point of View)

"Mine."

Oh fuck.

I quickly took my hands off the girl, noticing she froze, looking at my Alpha. I backed the fuck away as he slowly approached her bed. She looked absolutely petrified. 

He caressed her face, I knew he was in a trance. It was the same as when I met my Emmy. But I swear the poor girl was scared out of her mind. He was about to kiss her when I spoke up. "Alpha, stop. She's petrified." 

His head snapped in my direction, growling at me, his eyes black. I knew Rux was in control.

"She's Mine!"

Well yeah no shit.

"Alpha please look beyond her eyes." He looked back to her which I think scared her more. She was shaking. 

(Alpha Rascal's Point of View)

I took over from Rux to see my mate, past her eyes. She was shaking. Her eyes were terrified and they were looking at me.

I let go of her face and that's when she bolted. As soon as she took a step, her legs collapsed, so she crawled away from me and put herself in the corner. I don't know what I did.

My beta got on his knees a few feet in front of her as I stood there shocked. 

"It's okay, we won't hurt you." She just looked at him as if he had four eyes.

"Can you tell us your name? I can start. My name is Luke, and this is Rascal."

She whispered. "E-Esther." I smiled. Esther. It's beautiful.

I kneeled down next to my Beta. "Hi Esther, it's lovely to meet you." She trained her eyes on me and her eyes went wider in panic. What the fuck did I do. 

"Hey Esther, look at me. It's Luke." She looked at him and calmed slightly. It pissed me off that he was the one that could calm her right now but I couldn't.

"Esther, why are you so scared of Rascal here?" She stuttered so bad that it took both of us a second to realize what she had said. 

"T-t-ti-ti-titlee." 

As soon as we registered it, my face paled. It wasn't me, it was my title. What the hell did an Alpha do to her?

My beta said clear as day. "Esther, Rascal is your mate. He loves you. Ignore the title and focus on his soul. The soul that you are destined to be with." 

She looked at him with mixed emotions. "I-I n-need h-hi-him to pr-pro-promise som-something."

I looked at her and said, "Anything, what is it."

"Pr-promise me th-that y-you won't b-be l-like h-him. Th-that you w-won't h-hurt me." 

My heart broke when she finished her sentence. An Alpha had scarred her this bad. I will kill this SOB. "Esther. I promise I won't be like him, whoever he is. I will not hurt you. You are my mate. It's my duty to keep you safe."

She nodded. She was obviously still scared of me but it was reduced significantly.

"C-can I-I ask som-something?" I nodded and smiled. "W-Why did y-you give m-me a b-bed."

Oh fuck no.

She didn't just fucking ask that.
