The smell of cooked eggs attacked her nose as soon as she stepped inside the house.

"Dad, I'm home!"

"Oh, hi home. I'm dad."

She shook her head and smiled to her father's lame joke.

"Your brother is in his room. He keeps asking for you about the soccer game..."

Ah, yes, the soccer game. Tomorrow. And there's the infuriating jerk butt, with his brown-hazel eyes, annoying red hoodie, his caramel hai-

She closed her eyes-hard and shook her head. Don't let him invade your mind once again. Come on, open your eyes! He's just playing you.

For all she knows, Dane and his munchkin could be playing some rude joke on her. Making her fall into a trap. Jaden already knows about it (thanks to Cindy, back then), it will not be a long time before the whole flock knows it, and all dragging her into the pit of shame.

She immediately regret the decision she make with the tutoring thing.

You stupid, stupid donkey! She kicked herself mentally.

"Laury, why are you closing your eyes?" her brother said, with a confused tone. She immediately opens her eyes. "Are you trying to read dad's mind?"

She laughed at her brother's remark. That's the kind of affect you get after watching a show about superheroes with mind reading ability.

"No, but I know what you're thinking though."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes."

"Then what is it?"

"You're thinking about..." she tapped her chin for dramatic effect, "The soccer game tomorrow!"

Albert gasped, "Woah, you really are a psychic!"

She stick her lower lip and shrugged. "Welp, I told you I got talents."

Albert snickered. "Yeah, yeah. No need to brag about it, sister." He put on a face. "And by the way, will we really be going tomorrow? Because Jodie said this game is really really important, and we really really need to watch it." He said it without stopping for breath, which proof how excited he is about the game.

His sister huffed. A good sign? Or a bad one? Alby didn't know.

"Hm...let's see what we have here..." She reached her pockets and pulled out two red papers from it.

Albert's eyes widened at the sight. His hands reached out for the tickets. Lauren handed the tickets gladly to him, a smile plastered on her face.

At least she could make Alby happy out of it. And she was glad, really glad.

"Front rows!" he exclaimed happily, "Look dad, Laury got us front seats!"

Then she remembers about the shift tomorrow.

Maybe dad could take him. She reminded herself to tell her father later.

"That's nice, sweetheart." Said their dad, looking over his shoulders.

"Oh, wait 'till I tell Jodie about this!" Albert then ran to his room.

Lauren was brushing her teeth, watching the foam that formed inside her mouth. She spat the foam out seconds later. She was putting on her pajamas, her phone dinged with a new message. It was from Cote apparently.

'Hey,r you going 2 the game tomorrow?'

Ah, from one of Dane's munchkins apparently. Not that Lauren doesn't like Cote, she is just skeptical about a lot of things. Especially the things that are connected to the person she tries to avoid.
