Lauren took her swimming googles that sat silently on the bottom of her locker, and close the locker afterwards.

"You haven't changed."

She turns around to see her fellow swimming buddy straighten her white swimsuit. The one-piece white swimsuit covered her -so perfect flat stomach and shows a the line of her perfect cleavage. You could hear the little bit of her Portuguese accent even though the American takes more control.

She would be the definition of perfect in men-everyone's eyes.

She would look perfect in Dane's arms, wouldn't she?, Her absurd side of mind spoke, making her sick of her own thoughts.

She would care less about Dane. He is in the past, and will never be in her future.

She would have all men in the world with just a snap of her finger. Her irritating mind was back.

And you... I doubt you can attract a man to glance at you. It would be impossible for you to have someone in your life to love you.

You are not worthy compare to her. You are worthless, like you are to Dane, like you are to your mother!, her own thoughts spats.

Her heart suddenly flared with fire, of the mention of her mother. She balled her hand into a fist, her nails begin to dig her palm.

Her absurd, irritating mind really need a beating. A hard one.

Her heart do sunk a little though. Maybe not a little, after all.

'It would be impossible for you to have someone in your life to love you.' She remembers her own infuriating thoughts.

'You are worthless.' She dug her nails to her palm again.

But her thought stops there, when her, as she describe it, perfect swimming buddy and friend, waves her hand wildly in front of her face.

"Hellooooo. Earth to Lauren?"

She snapped out of her irrelevant and maddening thoughts and came back to reality.

"What? Oh! Sorry, Sophia...I just...got a lot of things in mind right now..."

Sophia sighed, "You always has..."

Lauren breathed out the breath she didn't know she's been holding.

"You should loosen up a little, Ren... It's not good to always had something stressing your mind." Said the blonde-haired girl while sitting on the bench.

Sophia's face suddenly lit up, as if she got an idea.

Lauren squinted her eyes, "You got an idea...that's usually not a good sign..."

"Oh! It's actually the opposite Lauren!" Sophia adjusted her sitting position and turned to face Lauren. "There's this party-"

"Nope nope. No parties."

"Just hear me out, please?"

Lauren sighed and nodded. "It's an afternoon party, so you don't have to worry about going home late or anything," Sophia waves her hand in the air. "My dad is opening his golf club this Saturday, he said I could bring a friend or two. There will be people, beers, and...cute boys", She nudged Lauren at her last remark.

Lauren rolled her eyes like there's no tomorrow.

"I don't know, Soph...I don't like people"

Sophia abruptly stood up from the bench.

"Well, I don't care." She put her hands on her hips. "You have to come, otherwise I will not join the swimming competition you pleaded me to join."
