*IMPORTANT* As you might know or not, the wearer of the red jacket is none other than Dane himself. (as you can see on the cover of the book). Goodness he rarely wash the damn jacket.
She looks around her. Everybody was busy talking in their own little circle. Left and right. Every single one of them having someone by their side.
While her...
Well, let's say that she isn't particularly talking and chatting to someone beside her. For the reason of nobody is actually standing and walking beside her.
Tori is busy with her 'theatrical business' , but the main reason is that she's not awake until 7.45 (although school starts at 8.15). "I still have 30 minutes to take a bath and drove to school. It's okay Laury, don't worry 'bout me." That's what Tori always says when Lauren remind her about her 'last minute' habit.
Sometimes, Aaron walked with her. But today, he's not. Lauren asked him this morning if he wants to take the bus together, but Aaron caught a cold and doesn't even go to school today.
Just her luck.
She hugs the book tighter when she saw a familiar red jacket. Yup, not going that way, her mind decides. Her eyes avoiding the direction of that red jacket, and she fasten her pace. Better not be noticed. The wearer of the red jacket (did that jacket ever washed? He seems to wear it all the time, it must be disgusting) seems to be talking to girl wearing the shortest skirt she ever saw. Not that she cares, of course. Why would she care about silly things like that?
Maybe he does follow her advice and find 'another bunch of girls' that wants to tutor him.
Good for him, then.
Not feeling any disappointment?
Of course she is not. Is her own mind kidding? She's terribly glad that he has found another tutor. It must be amazing for him. Getting things done with math, plus he can have a new partner in the love department.
Must be very lucky of him, isn't it?
Yes. Yes. Must be very lucky of him. Now, can we stop?
Her mind scatter when the phone in her pocket vibrates. A message from Cote ; don't forget bout the study sesh, today, 4pm, coffee shop?
Lauren paused from her walk for a second to reply the message. Holding her book for a moment in her armpit, she tried to reply the message. One task again for today. Busy busy busy. But it's for her own good anyway, and it's very nice of Cote to spare his time. He sure got a lot of schedule too. It's not just her who has plans.
'Got something on 4. How about 2?'
While she's about to hit the send button, someone bump her on the shoulder. Following that, someone clicked her/his tongue.
"Move out of the way, dammit."
She noticed the person with the red jacket went past her, saying curse words in advance. Him again. With a grumble and a glare, she noticed that her pause on the middle of the hallway is creating a human traffic jam. Parting the horde of student into half (to her left and her right). It's better that I moved away. She hit the send button, and walks to her first class.
Still with the same condition as before. Alone and no one beside her to chat with.
~'~
They (it's Lauren, really) picked a coffee shop that's not too far from the cake shop. So that she can rush to work after she finished with the tutoring. Nobody wants to be late on their first day at work.
