The alarm beeped and let out its noisy sound. The birds are chirping outside and the sky decides to be sunny today. She took a bath and prepare toasts for the rest of her family that has not awake yet. She left a note telling them that she's out to travel the town.
Her blue bike is waiting on her porch, ready to be used. She free the safety of her bike and begin her morning journey, bringing a note and a pen to write down job spaces that she'll find.
Most of the neighborhood was not awake yet and it's understandable. Heck, yesterday was the town party, of course they won't be up this early. There are only a few vehicles passing by, but not as much as usual and thank goodness for that.
As she pedaled her bicycle, she ponders to what Dane replied to her message yesterday. It's not a drunk message, as Lauren thought it would be. She guessed that Dane would be back to his party and got drunk and all those sort of things. But amazingly, no. And the top of it all, it was a short message of :
'Ok. Thanks.'
She cannot believe it the first time she read that, it was so short and brief for a Dane! After re-reading it for the sixth time, she realized that the words won't change.
It could be his friend, maybe he does went back to the party. But the possibility is small for a drunk person to write this very normal message.
She thought that maybe it's one of an act he pulls off to piss her off even more, and will give her a call the other day because he just seems like to annoy her.
But no calls, no more following texts. Or did he send her that short message and didn't annoy her further because he's still mad at her? For slapping him?
Pftt, what is she doing? So what if he's mad at her? It was his fault anyway. She should be happy he didn't call or contact her, not overthinking about whether he calls her or not.
This is silly! It's not supposed to happen! She's not supposed to care! Although she wonders, why wouldn't he be back to his party. It is technically dedicated to the soccer team. Without the captain, something seems a little bit off.
She shook the thoughts away and take a turn at the end of the road. Building came to view at the two sides of the road. Finally she reached her destination. The west side of town. Where shops, mid-class to upper-class restaurants, and people with money to spend are located.
Since there're not much jobs available on her neighborhood, she thinks that it won't be a bad idea to give the west side a chance. It'll be a longer ride to get there, but if it's worth the money and the efforts, why not?
Restaurants and shops passes by as she bikes. A Chinese restaurant, a cake shop, a pet shop, a school—oh, that's the school from the first game she attended, when she was a freshman.
Come on, you didn't think she is that anti-social, right?
Of course she went to a game before, except that time she just lasted 10 minutes of watching sweaty boys kicking ball, and decided that she got enough of it. Soccer is not her kind of sport and she hated it ever since the...
She shook her head vigorously at the thought, almost tripped over the pavement, but she quickly steadied herself. Just as she looked up, her eyes catches the sign she's been looking for.
Kat's Shelves.
Her first place for job appliance; a book store. She's not much of a reader unless it's school's work. But they said working in a bookstore is okay and, most importantly, is quite and not much people buzzling around (even though so, they won't be talking as much).
