The morning the next day was rough, the thought of getting out of the bed seemed exhausting and Laxus considered for some time about staying in. But he knew better than that. Sighing hardly he closed his eyes for a few more seconds to rest a little more, lately he was more exhausted and had less energy for getting up or working out. However he refused to admit to himself that fact, blindly believing that everything's alright.

Today he was especially exhausted like never, like all the energy inside was sucked out of him. But money doesn't grow on trees and Laxus hates questions about his well-being so he didn't dare to miss a day at the guild

After a while he slowly sat up, his feet  landing on the cold floor as he looked around the room. With the lack of energy followed a bit of mess for which he was too tired to clean.

Most of the things and clothes (far too small for him) on the floor were still at the same place as they were before, because Laxus didn't dare to pick them up, it would feel like giving up. Laxus stared at the things with a lost stare for some time as memories flashed through his eyes.

When he escaped from the trance he reached slowly for his own clothes, trying to ignore the mess around. In a blink of an eye he was dressed and already leaving the room, glancing at it one last time with sadness.

Shutting the doors he left the house, making his way to Fairy Tail.

It was becoming boring, every day doing the same thing (going to the guild, drinking, talking with Mira, going to his house), nothing new happening, no attractions in the guild and lack of the usual bantering. The only good thing in all that - making some difference in his boring life - were missions on which he was going almost everyday with his team now.

Maybe he will go for another one today? Yeah, that sounds like a really good idea.

The small city was all happy and loud on the streets, no matter how early it was and it was irritating as fuck. But it's like that every time. The day is the same as other days, or maybe it's his imagination? He really doesn't know.

After some time he was already in the guild and - as usual - looked around.

He then realized it's early, maybe even too early because there weren't too many people in the building yet, maybe like ten only. He sighed once again this morning, nothing was going as he would like it and it made him even more tired.

But he would rather sit there than in the quiet, too emoty house.

Noticing his friend working already he made his way to the bar, sitting on the chair with a quiet, but kind, greeting to the white haired woman asking politely if she would make his a strong coffee. It seemed like a great way to start the day and somehow survive rest of it.

"You look tired again" she said quietly after some time, sitting next to him as she placed a mug with coffee in front of him, receiving a quiet thanks from the man "Get some real sleep already" saying so she gently reached for his hairs, fixing them a little so he doesn't look like not sleeping for weeks or a total wreck of a man.

He usually didn't like people touching his hair, but he didn't stop her this time drinking his coffee in short silence.

"I know, just can't really sleep" he looked at the woman and she smiled kindly at him, letting him continue but he could notice that spark in her eye "Don't look at me like that, you know exactly why I have a hard time falling asleep" he rolled his eyes - still looking at her while she just laughed slightly.

"Yeah, you're right. You guys really had an amazing friendship, I was pretty shocked when I saw you getting along so well" her gaze never left his and he could see the pity and sadness in them, he hated when people pitied him, but he couldn't get mad at her "And I understand that you're hurting right now, but you have to realize that this friendship of yours had ended for the time being, no matter how much it hurts. Maybe you still think of him as your friend, and I suppose he is too, but you have to get inside your thick skull that he will come back when or if he wants to. And I can just assume that he's probably still processing what happened since he's still absent, and you know Natsu, he's not really fond of talking about feelings, especially the bad ones" She looked at him and clicked her tongue as she gently put her hand on the bigger one, rubbing it slightly "We don't even know if he's alive" the quiet voice said with delicacy "I'm sorry for telling you this, but it's all facts" she said once again standing up with those last words. She hugged him for a second, putting a peck on his head and then turned around going to the kitchen, wiping silently a single tear that had fallen from her eye.
