the game part 1

"Tell me again how you got us on this pricey ship?" The sassy teen questioned.

"I told you, the letter said another family had won but they were too busy to make it, so they told their mailman to give it to the first people they saw." Said a little boy with short curly brown hair, and a reptile tee-shirt, light brown shorts and radiant amber eyes.

"But why a boat of all places" a pale girl said, she looked to be in her late teens but at the moment, you couldn't tell much other than her face was turning a sickening green. She wore a fluffy sweater, even with it being almost 30 degrees. Out from her hood, her icy blue eyes peered out towards the reptilian.

"Who cares where it is Jaime, we're traveling! I've always wanted to travel" said a little girl a few inches shorter than Liam. She was wearing a shirt with a ladybug on it and a shawl over her back. She had pale pink hair that was just long enough for pink pig tails, and her eyes were an emerald green.

"Yes but Nallie, you like swimming, which still baffles me." Jaime said to the younger kids, who had been under her care, just after their parents had gone missing a few years ago. The boat was much bigger than what they had ever seen, much less, ever been on. The trip entailed Jaime looking sick, Liam bugging people trying to learn how the boat worked, and Nallie, just running around having fun.

After only a few hours, Liam found himself getting bored and found the buffet table. Nallie was still running around and Jaime was getting used to the sea air, and the rocking of the boat. Little did they know, their trip was soon to come to an abrupt end.

"Guys, guys, come look there's an island over there." Screamed Nallie, as she was heading down the stairs. In her quick movement, she had stumbled over another passenger, right before she landed her wings caught her from the fall. Just like that, the secret was out.

Observing the shocked crowd, Jamie froze in disbelief. "Nallie what have you done now?!" The one time she took her eyes off Nallie, and she goes and does something like this. Among the bustling crowd, Jamie spots Liam, safe and away from the growing audience. She could go with Nallie and keep her safe without being too worried about Liam. She grabbed Nallie and ran as fast as she could, hoping they could still make it to the island. As they neared the edge Jamie could hear Liam trying to keep up with them. Wanting to yell at him to stay put but, then he would have been at risk. Liam saw the mentioned island upon the horizon, and understood the plan. Hoping all of them would end up off the boat, Jamie leaped over the railing and plummeted into the frigid ocean.
