The Truth About Johnny, Surgery, Steve, and Getting Wasted Again...

[Ambers POV]

I gulped. "S-Surgery?" I asked. "Might not make it???" Soda asked. "Yeah, but we need approval from her legal guardian so we can go through the surgery." The doctor said. "O-ok Darrys not here but, can you wait a second before he comes?" Soda asked. The doctor nodded and left, the nurses made the guys leave the room. Then they stuck a bunch of needles in me. Then the doctor came in. "What is her blood type?" The doctor asked. "Positive. We don't have any new blood that we can donate to her." The nurse said, the doctor nodded and her face got tensed,

. "Maybe we could get one of her family members to donate some to her?" The nurse asked. The doctor nodded and brought the guys in. Hey Darry came back.

"Amber has very delicate blood, it needs to be new and it needs to be positive. And since we don't have new positive blood. Can one of you possibly donate some to her?" The doctor asked. "We would. But none of us are blood related, we're just all really good friends, so we don't have her exact blood type." Darry said. "Maybe we could get some samples and see who is her blood type? If that's ok with you Mr. Curtis." The doctor said. Darry looked at the guys, then they looked at me, they all nodded. The doctor nodded and they all walked with the doctor to another room.

"You must have very good friends huh?" One of the nurses asked me, I looked at her tag. It said Ashley. "Yeah." I replied. "Their all very handsome." She said. I smiled and laughed, "What?" She asked confused. "I'm sorry. Its just I don't hear people say stuff like that very often." I replied. She smiled, "Oh I get it." She said. "Huh?" I asked. "You're a Greaser, right?" She asked, wow talk about subtle. I nodded, "My sister, Lucy. Used to be a Greaser, she'd walk around town with Curly and Tim Sheppard waiting at her hand and foot. Finally she got caught cheating on one of them, then got kicked out of their group, and she almost got killed. But her best friend Johnathan helped her become a Soc so she could survive not getting shot or stabbed by someone involved in the Sheppard's gang. I'll be forever greatful." She said. Ok she's telling me way too much information, she doesn't even know me so why is she telling me?!?!

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked, she looked into my eyes. "Because you seem so nice and caring, and I feel like I could tell you anything and you'd keep it between the two of us." She replied. I nodded and lay'd back into my pillows thinking, Johnathan. "Is his name Johnny Cade?" I asked. She nodded, "But I call him Johnathan, he got mad at Lucy whenever she'd call him by his proper name. But he seems to not care when I say it." She replied. "Does Johnny love Lucy?" I asked. She nodded, "She tried to date him, right when Lucy was gonna tell him some other girl told Johnny she liked him. Apparently he liked that girl too. Lucy was heartbroken and swore she'd make that girl pay." She said coldly. "Oh. How's Lucy?" I asked. "Well she's heartbroken, comes home with new scars and bruises. She's always crying." She said sadly. "She really loves him huh." I said. She nodded. "Do you think Johnny loves Lucy?" I asked. "I think so, but he doesn't want to admit it to that other girl. He told me she really likes him, and he likes her too but he likes Lucy more." She said. Even though my heart was already broken, the last parts to it were hanging by a thread, and they'd just been crushed by what Ashley said. "So he's confused. He loved Lucy more, but felt sorry for the other her girl, so he kept feelings for her just out of pity." I said. "Yeah it seems so. You seem to know what's going on. Do you know who the other girl is?" She asked. I nodded, "I-" I said but the guys and the doctor came bursting in.

"Ok we have the test results. Steve Randle matches Ambers blood type." The doctor said. Steve and I's eyes almost popped out. "What?!?!" We both said. "Are you ok with donating some blood to her Mr. Randle? If you don't she'll die in the procedure." The doctor asked/said. I looked at Steve dead in the eyes, he looked at me in the eyes too. I mouthed, "don't", then he broke our stare and said, "I'll do it.". "No he won't." I quickly said. They all looked at me with confused faces. "You don't need to do this Steve. I'm ok with dying. I've caused y'all too much drama. I deserve to die from what I've done and said to Lucy. And I misunderstood Johnny, his relationship with her is complicated." I said. "What do you mean?" Steve asked. He walked over to my bed, I grabbed his hand and looked him in the eyes, he looked into mine. I saw sadness in his eyes, "Steve. I now know why Johnny cares for Lucy so much. He does love her more than me, and I'm ok with that. They have too much history together, he couldn't just throw that away once he met me. So I understand now, I mean what's the point of me standing in their way? Sure it'll cause me pain, but if I end it, it won't hurt me." I said.
