Dawson and Felix were in a big, empty field. It was filled with beautiful yellow wheat that moved with the wind; Dawson had never seen something so pretty and calming before. That was until a sharp, extraterrestrial-type spaceship landed, turning all of the wheat around them black and shriveled. The giant monster stepped out of the ship and then challenged them to a fight; even though he wanted to say no, his body said yes. The fight included Dawson and Felix being kicked and dropped to the ground a handful of times, honestly quite an unfair fight because of the significant height difference. Dawson was thrown to the side as the monster made its way to Felix; he realized his legs no longer worked as he tried to crawl his way to Felix. The beast stomped its way over to Felix, looking Dawson dead in the eyes, and squashed Felix's head in between its big boot and the once beautiful ground. Dawson screamed bloody murder as Felix's blood splattered onto his face, some even getting into his mouth. The monster looked at Dawson, pitiful, choking on his own tears, and walked away. Walked away so Dawson could die slowly and pain-filled, having the image of Felix flashing in his mind until the sweet release of death finally decides to bless him. The horrible dream had finally ended with both of the boys dying because of their unpreparedness.
As Dawson woke up, he sighed because he knew what he would have to do. They will have to "train" their powers, and it wasn't going to be like the movies.
Dawson drove to Felix's house, noting that his mom got home at twelve, also known as its time right then. He got out of his car and knocked on the door; he tapped his foot impatiently while waiting. No one answered, so he just banged harder until he heard a woman's voice yell, "Door!"
There was a small sound of feet hurrying to the door, and then it opened.
"Yes.. oh my... Dawson..." Felix said, pinching his temple, "You really stress me out sometimes...."
"Yeah, I need to talk to you," Dawson demanded.
"Um... I don't know..." Felix whispered, looking behind him.
"God... stop being so afraid!" Dawson said, pushing Felix back. Then telling Vicky, "Hey, I'm going to be hanging out with Felix for a few hours."
Vicky didn't answer; instead, she huffed obnoxiously and nodded her head, keeping her eyes on the TV. Dawson walked upstairs with Felix right behind him, they got to Felix's room, and then he started asking Dawson questions.
"Why are you here? I mean, I have nothing wrong with you being here, but like, is there a reason?" Felix asked.
"There is a reason; I had a dream. And it was not a good one." Dawson said darkly as they sat down on the bed.
"What happened?"
"Well, we were fighting the monster, and then we got our a- butts beat. The "thing" killed us. It was terrifying... and you want to know why we died?" Dawson asked, grabbing Felix's shoulders.
"I don't know...? We weren't ready?" Felix suggested.
"Exactly!" Dawson shook Felix violently. "We weren't prepared! We died because we didn't know how to use our powers, and that dream will become true if we do not practice. And I don't know about you, but I would never forgive myself if you died."
"I would hate for you to die, too!" Felix exclaimed, his heart beating a couple beats faster than it did before. His heart rate doubled in speed as Dawson laid his hand onto Feilx's thigh. He roughly removed Dawson's hand and then gripped his stomach, as well as his mouth.
"Oh," Dawson replied, leaning back on the wall.
" Mm?!" Felix pleaded with his eyes for Dawson to do something.
"I don't... know. Hold it in, I guess?" Dawson said sharply, snapping at Felix. Felix clenched his stomach, but this time it didn't work. The glob kept coming up; it almost made it to his throat before Dawson forcibly snatched his mouth.
"Hold it in, Felix." Dawson spat slowly, tightening his hold on Felix's face.
"Bur...n..."
Dawson let go of his face and threw him a plastic bag that he happened to have in his pocket. As Dawson glanced at Felix, he could see the skin where he grabbed his face, turning slightly red. He felt a pang of guilt run through his entire body. He couldn't believe he had hurt Felix like that.
"God... Felix... look at me..." Dawson said quietly, caressing his face. Then, checking it, making sure that it wouldn't bruise, "W-wait. I'll go get some ice..."
