Chapter 6: I'm not the stupid one

Y/n's POV

After school, Happy picked me up.

"Hey kiddo, how was your first day" Happy said

"pretty good, somebody threw their soda at me so I had to change,  but other than that it was good, I made some friends," I said

"cool"

When we got home I walked into the compound and took the elevator up to the floor my room's on. I walked into my room and started on homework, when I was finished I walked downstairs and Pietro was in the kitchen.

"Hey Pietro, wassup" I said

"nothing, how was school" Pietro said

"pretty good"

"that's not what you were wearing earlier, who's are those?" 

"peter's," I said quietly

"whos?"

"Peter's, some girl poured her soda on me, so Peter let me borrow some clothes"

"Why Peter, you don't like him do you?" 

"why does it matter?"

"because Peter is the kind of boy that will break your heart, I don't want you to hang out with him"

"what the hell,  he's not like that at all, he cares about me"

"How could you be so stupid, he doesn't care about you, if you fall in love with that boy he's gonna knock you up, then break your heart"

"that is so not true, peter's not like you," I said "and I'm not the stupid one, I forced a smile every day for years and you believed it, and for once in my life, my smile and happiness has been real,  that's because of Peter, " 

"you're so crazy for him that you think he's a good person. When he breaks your heart don't come crying to me" Pietro said then walked away

'what the fuck'     I thought to myself, I went up to my room, and then Wanda walked in.

"hey, I heard yours and Pietro's argument," Wanda said softly and sat next to me on my bed 

"oh, hey, Pietro doesn't know what he's talking about, Peter's a good person, he cares about me, and I know we're not together, but I love him," I said

"I know, Pietro just doesn't want your heart to be broken, he's broken many hearts before and doesn't want you to end up like one of his ex-girlfriends, he's not gonna admit it, but it's true, but let's talk about your first day of school, how was it?"

"well, I guess it was good, but at lunch, I was sitting with Peter and his friends, but then a girl came up to us and said she didn't want me there, and then when I started the gather my stuff and leave she poured her soda all over me, Peter gave me these to wear," I said, blushing when I mentioned me wearing peter clothes.

"aww, that's so cute, that's how I know that Peter does care about you, who was the girl that poured soda on you?"

"Liz, she thinks she owns Peter, I thought they were together by the way she was acting, but he told me they aren't, Peter's friend MJ told me that Liz was just jealous because it's obvious that peter likes me, but I don't know, I think Peter likes Liz"

"why would you think that?"

"Liz is a year older, super pretty, popular, she has good grades, a perfect body figure, and she's like rich as fuck, what more could a guy want"

"A good personality maybe, Liz sounds like a bitch, but you're nice and sweet, and you might not be super popular, but you're beautiful, and if peter doesn't see that, then maybe he isn't worth it"
