We all time-traveled back to the compound. When I got there I fell on my knees crying.
"Y/n...Where's Nat?" Bruce asked me
"She's...gone," I said trying to hold back more tears coming.
We were all sitting by the lake.
"Do we know if she had a family?" Tony asked
"Yeah. Us" Steve said looking down.
"Huh," Thor said "Are you kidding me?"
"I was just asking a question," Tony said
"Yeah, no. Youre acting like she's dead. Why are we acting like she's dead? We have the stones, right? As long as we have the stones, Cap, we can bring her back. Isn't that right? SO, stop this shit, we're the Avengers, get it together"
"We can't get her back," I said
"What-what do you?-"
"It can't be undone. It can't" I said thinking about watching Nat fall down that cliffside.
"Oh, okay I'm sorry, no offense, but youre a very earthly being, okay? And were talking about space magic. And "Cant" seems very definitive. Don't you think?"
"NO! Thor. It can't be undone! O-or that's at least the red floaty mother fucker had to say! How about you go talk to him! get your hammer and fly and go talk to him!" I said almost yelling "It should have been me. That's what my plan was, I was supposed to jump not her. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it"
Bruce threw a bench out onto the lake,
"She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to." He said
"We will," Steve said getting up.
We went back to the compound and got all of the stones situated into the new gauntlet Tony made.
"Okay, now the only question left, is who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket said
"I'll do it," Thor said
"Excuse me?" Tony said
"it's okay," Thor said walking toward the gauntlet
"hey, Stop. Stop. Stop slow down"
"Thor. Just wait. We haven't decided whos gonna put that on yet"
"Oh, I'm sorry, we're all just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?"
"We should at least discuss it," Scott said
"Look, sitting here, staring at the thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger okay, so, this responsibility falls on me,"
"Normally youre right"
"It's my duty" Tony and thor kinda argued about it
"Please, just let me do it. Just let me do something good for once. Something right."
"Look, it's not the fact that that glove's channeling enough energy to light up a continent. I'm telling you, youre in no condition" Tony said
"What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?"
"Cheese whiz," Rhodes said
"Lightning"
"Lightning won't help you, pal. It has to be me. You saw what those stones did to Thanos. They almost killed him, none of you could survive it" Bruce said
