Chapter 13: 'Baby?'

Y/n's POV

Today I'm going back to school after not being there for a few days. I've been having nightmares again and my head hurt for a while, so Tony decided that I shouldn't go to school for a few days. But now I'm going back, the school just thinks that I was sick, one of the Shield agents is my fake dad who the school thinks is my legal guardian told them that I had a fever.

I was walking into the school then Mj ran up to me and hugged me.

"Oh my god, you're finally here, what happened?" She asked

"I was sick for a few days" I lied because I'm not sure if I should tell her that I'm a Maximoff, and I live with the Avengers, and that I can control fire, or that I got kidnapped. It's hard lying to my best friend, but it's just what I have to do, and I know that she wouldn't tell anyone, but I don't know, I guess it's for her own safety.

"Oh, that sucks," Mj said

"Yeah, what'd I miss while I was gone?"

"Just a small quiz for math and Mr. H assigned us a science project on astronomy, but you can borrow my notes if you want"

"Sweet thanks, soo, have you talked to Jason yet?"

"Shh, and no I haven't, because I don't know what to say, I don't just want to walk up to him and not know what to say"

"Yeah, just start a conversation and see if you guys have anything in common, then you guys can become close friends, and hang out, then when it's time you can tell him how you feel, and if he doesn't like you back then he ain't shit"

"Ha yeah, but how would I start a conversation?"

"He does football, you could try out for the cheer team," I said jokingly

"No. Hell no, that will never happen, maybe I could ask him to be my partner for the science project, were supposed to pick our partners today"

"Yes, that's perfect, then you guys would be able to spend a lot of time together"

"Okay, I'll do that, but I have to get to my locker, see you later"

"Bye"

I walked to my locker then Peter and I walked to class together.

At lunch

We were all hanging out at lunch like we always do, but then Pietro called me, my phone was sitting on the table with the screen facing up, and Mj was sitting next to me so she saw Pietro's name pop up when he called me.

"Who's Pietro?" she asked

"Oh, h-he's my uhh...dentist," I said

"You call your dentist by his first name? and why is he calling you instead of emailing you?" Mj questioned me

"Uhm, yeah we're pretty close I guess, I have to take this one second," I said and walked away

"Pietro, what's up, why are you calling me?" I asked him

"I was just checking in, seeing if you're okay," He said

"Yeah I'm fine, you cant call me when I'm at school, Mj saw your name on my phone. Now she thinks me and my dentist know each other on a first-name basis and that my dentist's name is Pietro"

"Ahh shit, is that the best lie that you could come up with?"

"Yeah, I got put on the spot"

"Sorry, well I'm glad you're okay, call me if you need anything"

"Okay, thank you, bye"
