Upon getting there, the gates were still closed. I looked on my phone as the soft hum of the motorcycle kept me busy. "Hey, (Y/N)!" A voiced yelled, as I looked to see who it was. Fortunately, it was Reki and Langa on a bike. "I'm surprised you got here so early, (Y/N). I thought we were going to be the first here, but I guess not! Have you been waiting long?" Reki exasperated, while I shook my head.
"No, I haven't." The banter of other 'S' members filled the air, as the gates opened. I rode ahead, letting them check the sticker Reki gave me. They nodded, letting me through. I waited for Reki and Langa to go through security, so I just waited on the side of the dirt road. When they came up to me, we rode side by side. "Thanks for inviting me, guys!" I thanked, as Reki looked away flustered. 'No problem,' he said, before he parked our bikes in the makeshift parking lot.
"Do you think she'll be here tonight?"
"I hope so!"
"God, she's so hot!"
"I doubt she's coming."
"A guy can hope!" Were few of the random comments I heard from the crowd. Reki went off to the public ramp as Langa and I were left standing there watching.
"Hey Langa? Who are they talking about?" I asked in a hushed manner, hoping that it was about me. I wasn't a narcissist per se, however, if their comments were about me, then that means I left an impact. Langa side glanced me, before looking back at Reki's distant figure.
"You don't know?" He asked, as I shook my head, acting confused. Langa pulled his phone out from his pants pocket, before pulling up a video. It was of me skateboarding. He managed to get the Stalefish Grab down the steps. 'Does this mean Langa watched me race?' I asked myself, not paying attention to the video. "Amazing, isn't she?" Langa commented, smiling down at the screen. I nodded before asking what they called her, "I believe they are calling her Victory Curls as of right now."
Silence... More silence... Not in my head...
"Victory... Curls?" I questioned, in a daze, "They're calling her Victory Curls... because of her hair...?" Obviously, I wasn't expecting an answer, but I received one from Langa anyway.
"Yes, it is her trademark." He answered plainly, as I held the urge to glare at him. 'What type of name is that?! My old one was so cool, and now my nickname is super lame...' Inaudibly sighing, I glanced back at Reki to see him having fun. A small smile covered my features, as I watched from afar. Suddenly, a lot of girlish screams could be heard coming down the hill. Looking in the direction, a pink hair ninja and Joe were in my view. Trying to ignore any unwanted attention, I looked to my phone for solace and comfort. My brother's board was still stationed on my back, as I ignored everything going on around me. 'Please don't recognize me! Please don't recognize me!!' I pleaded.
...
Looking around the area, Joe didn't see the bombshell from the night before. But who he did see shocked him. There I was, sitting on a slab of stone, staring at my phone like my life depended on it. He stared for a second, before a group of girls appeared out of practically nowhere. "Hey Joe! Do you want to go out with us sometime?!" The girls asked excitedly, obviously thinking poor Joe would say yes, since he said yes to every girl, however, Joe answered with something even Cherry wasn't expecting.
"Sorry ladies... I'm kind of dealing with something at the moment." The girls walked away, shocked, and disappointed, before Cherry walked up to his old friend since kindergarten.
"Now, if I didn't know any better, I thought I just saw you turn down your usual groupies. Along with that, you have been quiet all night. It's either you are an imposter, or all hell has frozen over." Cherry commented, with his usual elegant words. It took a moment for Joe to conceive Cherry's presence. Joe asked what he said, making the pink-haired male pop a vein on his forehead, "What is going on with you, you doppie gorilla?!" Cherry asked out of frustration. This time, Joe heard him.
