I trained in my room until my brother yelled at me for being annoying. I went to sleep but got up early the next morning. As I looked out my window, I saw Reki ride past with his skateboard. 'He must want to train before the race tonight too...' I thought, before getting everything I'd need this morning prepared. I texted Langa were Reki was headed, and to meet me by my house. I waited outside, with goosebumps and a stomach that throbbed painfully. I was nervous for all sorts of reasons, the main ones for waiting on a boy and Adam's beefs. Once Langa arrived, we started to walk up the road.
"It's a beautiful morning..." I hummed out, looking toward the brightening blue sky. The morning was crisp but held a certain newness. I loved moments like this. Where it was quiet and still.
"Yeah, it is." Langa responded, nodding before looking straight forward once again. "Hey (Y/N), do you mind answering something for me?" He questioned, as I nodded my head. "You ran off from the ramen shop so suddenly... You said it was nothing, but it didn't seem that way. Joe mentioned something about your brother getting hospitalized because of Adam... Is that why you ran off?" Snow boy queried, as I became shocked at his perceptiveness. A small giggle escaped from my lips, as Langa stared in my general direction.
"Reki was right. You do talk about your feelings a lot, huh?" I questioned rhetorically, before the blue-haired boy nodded. "I didn't know my brother got hurt... and I kick myself for it. I remember being confused that he quit doing it hardcore. It didn't seem like something he would do... But I guess I know why he stopped hardcore skateboarding and stuff... Though, it does hurt. I know I couldn't do anything then, but now... this is time to avenge my brother and give back his pride and dignity."
"Are you nervous?"
"Of course I am! There's... supposedly a rumor going around that Adam can ride uphill, which is more than a little terrifying. Besides that, it is said that he has never lost once. I mean... the last time I've lost was four years ago, but that was because... well you know..." I stumbled, thinking about Bombshell. Her style... how she cheated... all the sorts. Adam had to be a cheater. There was no doubt on my mind.
"Know what?" Langa asked worriedly, as became flustered.
"Um... never mind. It's not important." I stammered. Langa was about to say something before a skateboard rolled down to Langa's feet. He picked it up before Reki came into our view.
"Langa, (Y/N). How'd you know I was here?" Reki questioned, looking from me to Langa.
"Just had a feeling." Langa stated in a cool manner before I elbowed his side.
"Liar. I saw you ride past my house, and I texted him so we could join you." A smile was apparent on each of our faces. We were all happy, but that didn't mean it would last forever.
...
"Reki? You ready to go?" Langa questioned, as Reki worked on his board. I looked over the room hundreds of times. Each time I did, my eyes landed on Bombshell's old board. It was steadily coming back together, however, it was nowhere near done. I brushed my fingers over the back, as I looked over at Reki and Langa.
"Yeah! Let's do it!" Reki smiled, before I got up and patted Victory Curls's board to make sure it was there. Indeed it was. We walked out to the street outside of Dope Sketch to see a pink car. A couple nights before, I was mocking Shadow for having a cute car, but I didn't really feel like teasing him. After all, I was having a miniscule panic attack. As the boys got into the car, I jumped on my motorcycle, revving the engine. It brought me satisfaction. All the way to the 'S' tracks, I rode alongside Shadow's car. My heart was bumping something fierce as I just sat on the seat, scared. Pulling into the makeshift parking lot. I walked alongside Reki and Langa. Murmurs about Adam hung in the air, as I looked around dumbly.
