Their eyes met with such intensity, that I felt myself drift away, as I watched from the shadow of night. They were silent, before Reki finally decided to speak, "So, hey." Langa let out a groan before they started talking over each other. This interaction was awkward, but it was to be expected. After all, they hadn't talked to each other in a week. "Go."
"No, you." Silence for a moment, before Reki threw his head back in childish anguish.
"I don't even know what to say! Crap! I'm sorry!! I've been trying to be a good skater, but I've been such a terrible friend."
"Let's skate it out, together." Langa responded, "Come on!" They went at it for a while, doing some wicked airs and grabs as I sat on the concreate, enjoying the view before me. Victory Curls's skateboard sat next to me as I watched with great joy. I always found it odd that joy and happiness aren't the same thing. Sure, they are described as synonyms, but they are, in fact different. Happiness is materialistic at worst and tends to lean toward something that isn't always complete; however, joy is a fulfillment that makes a person feel whole. I smiled upon them, until they crashed into one another. A small chuckle escaped my lips, as they lay there groaning in pain.
"Why didn't you dodge me?" Reki groaned out, before the blue-haired boy started to chuckle along side me. "I'm glad you find it amusing."
"You're pretty awesome, Reki." Said red-head seemed confused, before Langa continued, "You took the time to teach me how to skate, and you made me my own skateboard, too!"
"What's happening? Where's this from?" A blush was evident on Reki expression. These two boys, both drawn apart from their skills and personalities, managed to come back to one another.
"You're really good at what you do. I never would've learned how to Ollie if you and I hadn't met." Langa complimented, with the largest smile I have ever seen on his expression. I took a small step back, feeling both accomplished and left out. However, this wasn't about me. It was Langa and Reki. And I was willing to put my selfish natures aside and watch from afar.
"Please. You had the potential, and you made an effort." Reki retorted, before Langa continued.
"It's more than skill alone. You showed me how fun skating can be. Everything important I learned from you." The blue-haired boy had gained Reki's attention, before he drifted his own gaze downward, "You teach me about things I never would've thought of in a million years. Your idea to spin the trucks was genius. And I definitely didn't guess I could skate against Adam-"
"Let's stop there. I get what you're saying." Reki blurted, before taking a moment of solace, "Ya know, you never talk and now that you've started, it's like you can't stop." It's because of you, Reki. Because of you, Langa has reached a new life. As for me, you kept me company in my darkest hour.
"I have a little more to say. Lately, it's like I lost sight of why I was skating. All I could see was who I was up against, or where the race was happening. And nothing else. Just that. But (Y/N) helped me see where I was, and you helped me remember. Skating with you brought the excitement back. I'm having so much fun." Langa stated as a small blush appeared on my cheeks. I wasn't expecting any thank you, or mention.
"Really? I was thinking the same thing about you! Listen. Let's skate together tomorrow and the day after that. We'll never stop again!" Reki offered, with his usual smile painted on his cheeks. One of my own formed.
"Let's do it! I wanna skate infinitely with you!" Langa spoke with such enthusiasm, before Reki answered him with just as much.
"Infinitely is a bit much, bro!"
"Let's not forget that you're the one who said it first. You taught me that skating was infinite. (Y/N) mentioned it too." A smile remained.
"You're right. I guess I did." Reki muttered happily.
