M!Byleth: "That's the end of our lecture for today, everyone's dismissed."

Everyone leaves out the lecture room except for Y/n.
Apparently, there was something in her mind she couldn't just leave alone.
It kept bothering her for as long as she could remember.
Even though she wasn't at best to talk to others about problems such as the one that waves back and forth to her every now and then...
To relieve herself of this demise, she decided to talk to her Professor about the issue.

Y/n: "Professor..."

M!Byleth: "Yes, Y/n?"

Y/n: "I... want to talk to you about an important matter."

M!Byleth: "What's the matter?"

Y/n: "I believe I told you that before I can take my father's role to the throne, I must first be betrothed in order to rule my kingdom..."

M!Byleth: "Yes, I believe you told me so..."

Y/n: "You see, I've found something interesting that even my own father doesn't even know."

M!Byleth: "What is it?"

Y/n: "I want to show you this."
Y/n hands him an old, but well conditioned book.

M!Byleth: "A book?"

Y/n: "It's not any kind of book, this is the book that represented my kingdom centuries ago, which I found in the library before coming to class today."

M!Byleth: "What did you find?"

Y/n: "I read in the book that centuries ago, before the last centuries ruler, there have been emperors without no wives or husbands that have ruled (K/n). And the reason so was because they weren't regulated at the time to do what they pleased. One ruler did had concubines but that quickly ended his time as a ruler before someone else took his place."

M!Byleth: "And what's the difference from the rules before compared to now?"

Y/n: "Now, we have regulations as the next emperor of (K/n), I have to be forced to become betrothed in an arranged marriage that will together rule (K/n) with me until I step down or someone else takes my place."

M!Byleth: "I see, do you like the regulations that was set for you?"

Y/n: "Well, I will make this loud and clear, Professor. I clearly don't like the regulations that are set upon me this way... I am most compatible by myself. Why is it that my parents have to make an arranged marriage with a man I don't want to marry...? How come I'm not in the place to wait and choose whom I want to marry and see fit for the good for my country with the man I love?"

M!Byleth: "Is it not so simple to just defy their wishes, or at least have a conversation of the situation?"

Y/n: "I wish it were so simple... we have been keeping this as a tradition for thousands of years that I don't even recall anyone going as far as to defy the traditions that were set upon those who chose to rule the kingdom."

M!Byleth: "Do you not wish to marry?"

Y/n: "Well, I do, but I want to rule it with someone who I completely trust and love. Who will also promise to be with me, to take the same road as I until our end of times..."

M!Byleth: "I believe you can change it, if you prove who you are to them without nobody telling you who you should marry or if you are good enough to take the throne by yourself. I can see that much potential in you, Y/n. You are one my best students in the class, better yet, the academy. You have been valedictorian for all the years you have been in the monastery, from what I've heard from a bunch of different professors here. This is your last year here with me and you're already excelling everything I have taught you. You name it: sword, lance, bow, axe, magic, heal, Cavalry or Pegasus riding. Even war tactics and strategies, I know for sure you have what it takes to rule the kingdom even with or without a partner by your side."

Y/n: "Professor..."
Y/n smiles with the most reassuring behavior, as if something was lifted off of her shoulders.

Y/n: "Thank you... I- I have been worried about this for a while now. I had no one else to talk to about this matter, and I'm glad I have chose the right person to speak my mind openly about it. You reassuring me was the best thing that could ever make me feel happy from the bottom of my heart."

M!Byleth: "I'm glad I could help."

CHIME! CHIME! CHIME!

Y/n: "Oh, it's the bell. It's time for dinner, I suppose."

M!Byleth: "Are you going to the dining hall?"

Y/n: "Yes, I'm starving."

M!Byleth: "I can escort you there. We can talk along the way."

Y/n: "Then, may I make a selfish request?"

M!Byleth: "Yes?"

Y/n: "Can... we have time to ourselves for the rest of dinner time together? I don't know that much about you as much as you know me personally... And maybe we can learn by just taking the time to hang out when we have the chance, you know?"

M!Byleth: "Of course, I also wanted the time to be with you, also."

Y/n: "Wait, so, you'll accept my selfish request?"

M!Byleth: "Of course."

Y/n smiles to M!Byleth.
Y/n: "I'm really grateful to you, Professor, I really am."
Y/n: "Maybe, I could try and make a change of this regulation. It can't hurt to try to negotiate my parents about it..."

EXTRA:

Dorothea , Edelgard, and Hubert were already eating their meal as they coincidentally look at you and M!Byleth converse at a table across from where they were at.

Dorothea: "Oh hey, it's the Professor and N/n~!"

Edelgard: "They look very close than usual, I wonder what made them this way?"

Dorothea: "Oh? Is someone jealous?"

Edelgard: "You have the wrong idea."

Dorothea: "Oh, don't be shy to say the truth! Say it, say it!"

Edelgard: "I'm just saying despite Y/n being the best student of the monastery, Y/n normally doesn't like talking to others. So, I was just wondering what might've happened between Y/n and the Professor to make her as happy as she is right now..."

Dorothea: "That's true..."

Hubert: "Perhaps should I figure the situation myself and report everything back to you, Lady Edelgard?"

Edelgard: "No, they look happy to be bothered of any nonsense."

Dorothea: "Yeah, let's leave them alone for a while."
