Trapping Mario

One night in Boo Woods in the middle of a field, a cloud of mist swarmed a huge mansion. At the entrance, a large Boo with a crown and a red ruby admired his work and laughed evilly.

"At last! Phase 1 of my master plan is complete! Soon as those Mario brothers show up, it'll be GAME OVER!!!" he cackled.

Then another Boo floated up to King Boo for the plan.

"So, what're we going to do with this mansion, your majesty?" he asked.

"Why, I'm glad you asked my friend!" King Boo explained, "First we'll send four letters, one of them will be in Mario's mailbox, saying that they won a free mansion. Second, when they enter the mansion, we strike! I even have the perfect portraits for them."

"It's perfect, my king!" the Boo complimented, "But two questions, one, why are you sending out four letters and not one? And two, how are we going to convince the two that they won a mansion in a contest they didn't enter?"

"For your first question, I want to test out the portraits to see if they work as planned with the power of my crown's gem," King Boo explained, "Secondly, you shan't worry about that. I already worked around that possibility. Once this plan succeeds, I'll go for my older revenge... on her..."

"One more thing, sire. What should we do with the portrait ghosts we stole?"

"Ah, yes. If Luigi or our other guests somehow resist. I'll send them on those fools, with the power of my gem."

A few days later, Luigi went outside to get the mail and began to look through it. Most of them were bills, but one letter caught his attention.

"What's this?" he wondered, reading it, "Dear Mario and Luigi, CONGRATULATIONS! You just won the contest of winning mini-games by doing absolutely nothing! You're reward: A BRAND NEW MANSION! Take the map provided and it'll lead you to your glorious new abode! I hope you enjoy it!"

Luigi was confused at first, he didn't enter any contest. If he did, it was probably another Mario Party. But he just shrugged it off.

"Boy oh boy! We just won a mansion!" Luigi said excitedly, "I need to tell Mario!"

Luigi quickly dialed Mario's number, because he wasn't home. Mario was at Peach's castle last night and decided to stay there for the night. It was around very early morning, close to midnight. When his phone rang.

"Morning already?" he yawned, "Mamma mia, what time is it?"

"Hello?" he said picking up the phone.

"Mario, you'll never believe this! We just won a free MANSION!" Luigi exclaimed over the phone.

"WHOA! A MANSION?!" Mario instantly covered his mouth, knowing some people are still sleeping, "How did we win a mansion?"

"Apparently for winning a contest by doing nothing!" Luigi replied.

"That's odd..." Mario said, "I don't recall entering us in a contest."

"I know right? I guess they automatically enter you in or by random."

"Uh-huh, sure... Luigi, any chance you saw who it was sent to? Just curious."

"It didn't say who sent it. Not to mention, it looks pretty legit."

Mario grew suspicious about this whole 'winning a mansion' thing.

"Anyway, let's meet up at the mansion so we can celebrate."

"Alright," Mario hung up and got ready, "Something's fishy about this mansion we 'won'."

Mario looked out the guest room window and saw a three-story mansion with many windows. But the scary part was that it was surrounded by dark forests, not the forests that Lady Bow lives in and lighting. He didn't even remember there being a mansion built there at all.
