Meanwhile, just down the path to the mansion in Boo Woods, a blue puppy was walking up to the mansion. She too also received a map and a letter that she 'won' a mansion and has just arrived.

"Let's see... I made it into the forest, and crossed the river," she said looking at the map, "According to the map, I should be here."

The blue puppy looked up and saw the mansion, noticing the eerily features, and opened the gate. As she walked to the front doors, she was starting to have second thoughts about this plan, but she went ahead knowing her owner was in there somewhere.

Entering the mansion, she saw the lights were out with only a few candle flames for light. Fortunately, she brought a flashlight in case of emergencies like this.

"It's alright, Blue..." she said to herself, "If there are ghosts in here, they won't hurt you."

Blue walked up the stairs and walked up the door near the top. But when she tried to turn the knob, the door was locked realizing she'll need a key, she went back downstairs. But that was when she spotted a key, but it was surrounded by an orange floating cloud.

This scared the puppy as she stayed still. Whatever it was, dropped the key and flew away, Blue then picked it up.

"What... was that...?" she wondered, "If that was a ghost, I hope it was nice like my ghost friend Boo."

Going back upstairs, Blue used the key to unlock the door and went inside the Parlor. When she entered the room, she was in shock. The orange cloud she saw, was a gold ghost, and it was scaring and chasing Luigi around the room.

"Eeeeeeyyyyyaaaaaahhhhh!!!" Luigi screamed, "MARIO! WHERE ARE YOU?! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY! HELP ME!"

Hating seeing Luigi like this, Blue decides to step in front of the ghost. She readies her flashlight, to shine at the ghost.

"Leave him alone!" she demanded.

When the gold ghost saw her, he immediately began to charge at her, until a gust of wind caught the ghost. Blue and Luigi looked behind the ghost and saw a man in a lab coat and glasses that looked like he was in his fifties. He was also carrying a gadget that looked like a portable vacuum.

"Hang in there, youngsters!" he called out.

The gold ghost ran around the Parlor, dragging the scientist around as if he was in a rodeo. After a bit, the ghost slapped the scientist making him lose his grip. The ghost retreated as Luigi and Blue walked up to him.

"Ouch..." he muttered, "Ooof... I sure take a lot of knocks in this line of work."

"Are you ok, sir?" Luigi asked helping him up.

"Quite fine, sonny," he replied, "But I'm getting too old for this ghost-catching tomfoolery."

"Anyway, nice to meet you two. I'm Professor Elvin Gadd or E. Gadd for short," he introduced.

"This house... I swear it seems to have more ghosts every day! What're two young fellers like yourselves doing around here, anyhoo?" he questioned.

Before either could answer, three more gold ghosts appeared in front of the trio. Luigi's eyes widened upon sight.

"Uh-oh! This looks ugly," said E. Gadd, "All right, youngsters, look lively! Follow me, posthaste!"

Luigi and Blue quickly followed the professor outside the mansion. They went into what looked like a nearby bunker that was just built. They ran inside before the ghosts caught on.

"Whew, that was close," E. Gadd sighed with relief.

"Yeah... Too close," Luigi stuttered.

"Say, I don't believe we met. Tell me, what're your names youngsters?" E. Gadd asked.
