Previously, Luigi and Blue had ousted Chauncey, the Spoiled Baby, and got a special key. Once they got the ghosts back to E. Gadd's lab they returned to the mansion in hopes of saving their friends.

Seeing the barrier blocking the door on the Foyer on the first floor was gone. Blue assumed that the key they got could unlock it. Turns out, she was right and it led them down a hallway. So Luigi and Blue did some exploring while being on the lookout for keys.

"Mamma mia..." Luigi muttered.

"Are you ok, Luigi?" Blue asked.

"Not really. I don't what makes me scared. The fact, I can't find my brother, Mario. Or the fact I'm constantly seeing my biggest fears!" Luigi replied, "I really wished I asked Lady Bow to come with me. She could've known firsthand what these ghosts were capable of!"

"Lady Bow? Is she a friend of yours?" Blue wondered.

"She was, she helped me rescue my bro, Mario before on our Star Spirit adventure. It may seem like a shock to you. But Lady Bow is a ghost."

"I wish I could say I was surprised. But I have I ghost friend, too," Blue said, "His name was Boo."

"A Boo that's named Boo?" Luigi questioned.

"I know it seems strange, but that was what he was named. The Boo I know is really nice and he doesn't scare me or my friends most of the time. Although he does get scared when someone says boo."

Luigi figured Boo was a lot like Bow and told her they should meet their ghostly friends one of these times after the adventure is over.

The first room they explored was the Bathroom, nothing was special about it with the basics. But when they searched around, a lavender Grabbing Ghost ambushed them and got ahold of Luigi. Luckily, because Luigi squirmed around so much, the Grabbing Ghost lost its grip and Luigi stunned it and sucked it up. But then another Grabbing Ghost came in and went for Blue, but she did the same thing Luigi unintentionally did and got the ghost.

Just after the lights came back on, their Game Boo/Boy Horror went off, and Professor E. Gadd called them.

"Looks like you've both ran into a bit of trouble there," said E. Gadd, "Maybe you need more training!"

"Probably, they tried to grab us!" Luigi replied.

"There are some ghosts who'll try to grab and hold you...," E. Gadd explains, "When that happens, try moving your Control Stick back and forth to shake 'em off! It's the age-old struggle for survival! Don't lose heart, youngsters!"

"Will do! Bye Professor!" Luigi and Blue said as they hung up.

They saw the key up on a shelf and Luigi used the Poltergust 3000 to get it down. Using the key, they opened the door to the Ball Room.

Inside the Ball Room, the duo saw six Ghost Guys, each in a pair and circling each other. Luigi knew they had to be related to Shy Guys that he and Mario encountered, like in Shy Guy's Toy Box. He was also curious as to what was behind the masks anyway as he used his Poltergust to remove the mask from one. But all he saw were yellow eyes. Luigi stunned the ghost as Blue got its partner and they sucked them in. They did the same thing for the other two pairs and sucked them in.

When they got them all two ghosts, one male and one female, entered the Ball Room and started dancing as the dance floor began to spin. The male dancer wore a red long-sleeve jacket with a purple shirt underneath and a matching colored bow, his hair was also yellow-orange combed back. The female dancer was wearing a green patterned dress with lighter green trims at the bottom, and a cream-colored belt, her hair was blonde and very curly.
