After putting the ghosts Luigi and Co. captured back in paintings. They returned to the mansion to find out how to restore the power. It wasn't easy to navigate around due to the pitch black and multiple ghosts flying around. Eventually, they made it to what they could see with their flashlights.
The room appeared to be a Telephone Room, that included a sofa, a telephone, and some large chests. Just then the phone on the stand rang Luigi picked it up to answer it.
"Hello?" he asked.
"He-Hello? ..." Luigi could recognize that stuttering from Toad, "May I ask who is speaking... please?"
"It's me, Luigi," he said, "Is that you, Toad?"
"Whew! Yep, it's me Toad!" Toad sighed in relief, "I don't know what I would have done if a ghost had answered!"
"Why're you calling us?" Luigi questioned.
"We have a terrible problem! The lighting caused a blackout all over the house! What're we going to do?" Toad said scared, "We're really, REALLY afraid of the dark! Isn't there a way to turn them back on?"
That was when something occurred to Marshall.
"Luigi, can you lower the phone to me?" he asked and Luigi lowered the phone to the dalmatian.
"Toad? It's me, Marshall," he said, "Do you know a room or something that turns the lights on?"
"Now that you mention it. I do remember seeing a large breaker switch somewhere in the basement."
"Then that's where we'll head next!" Marshall said, "Don't worry, Toad. We'll restore the power! No job is too big! No pup is too small!"
Luigi hung up the phone and they began to leave the Telephone Room. But then the phone rang again. This time, Anna answered it.
"Hello?" she said.
"Hello there!" Anna could tell that it was Professor E. Gadd.
"Professor E. Gadd? Why're you calling us from here?" she asked.
"True, that I usually contact you through your communicators, but I thought I'd try this phone since you were in the room..." said E. Gadd, "Anyway, I'm sure you're aware that ghosts avoid light and hide in the dark... But listen, now. There's one ghost from the gallery who only hides in the darkest places..."
"Darkest places... Who's that?" Anna asked.
"His name... is Uncle Grimmly... If he's on the loose, then now may be your only chance to get him..."
"Alright, where do we find Uncle Grimmly?" Luigi asked listening in.
"Why don't you try looking for him in rooms with clothes and a mirror," E. Gadd suggested.
Taking E. Gadd's advice, the quartet left the Telephone Room to find a room with clothes and a mirror. The only problem was that it could be any of the rooms.
"Which room could E. Gadd mention with clothes and a mirror?" Blue wondered, "This would be easier if I could see. That way I could leave three pawprints that would give us clues."
"Uh, how s that possible?" Anna asked.
"One of these times, when this is all over I should teach you guys how to play Blue's Clues."
"You know, for finding Uncle Grimmly. One room does come into mind," said Luigi.
"Which one is that?" Marshall asked.
"The Wardrobe Room."
Luigi led them back down to the second floor and through the Anter Room. While they had to fight more ghosts with the lights out. Most of them they just avoided.
In the Wardrobe Room, Anna pulled out her Game Boo Advance and searched around. Sure enough, she found a pale blue ghost with an oval head, small yellow eyes, and jowls. He was also wearing a brown coat with two opal buttons, a dark purple tie, and a boutonniere.
"That must be Uncle Grimmly," Anna said.
"I wonder why he looks so sad?" Blue wondered.
Uncle Grimmly sighed, "Nobody will find me because I'm old, cranky and by gum, people are afraid of me!"
Marshall tries to make his way to Uncle Grimmly to catch him, but the ghost caught him. He attempts to scare him by lifting his arms and wailing. But this was a mistake on his part with his heart exposed.
Anna stunned the grim ghost and got him into her Poltergust 3000. This caused the chest to appear with the key to the Breaker Room. The quartet hurried down to the Breaker Room and unlocked the door. Inside, they found the lever that controls the power. Luigi runs up to it and pulls the lever up and the lights went back on.
"Whew, feels good to see where I'm going again!" Luigi said with relief.
"Same here," Blue, "I felt like I was starting to see things."
Taking the key for the room across, Luigi and Co. found themselves in the Cellar next. Nothing was of interest to the group, other than two shelves filled with all kinds of junk. But they did find another key after defeating two Purple Punchers.
Walking back up to the third floor, Luigi and Co. used the key to open the door to the Clockwork Room. In there, there were some clocks on tabletops and some chairs. There were even three small house prop-like stands, each with a Clockwork Soldier in pink, blue, and green.
"Huh, this seems nice here," Marshall thought aloud.
"I'm not sure about that," Luigi replied, "Those soldiers creep me out."
"Well, aside from the soldiers. My friend Tickety Tock would love this room," Blue said.
As the quartet explored the room, Anna and Marshall tinkered with the clocks that all played a tune. But as they tinkered with more clocks, they failed to notice the Clockwork Soldiers moving towards them.
"Guys! Behind you!" Luigi called out.
Luigi quickly activated the sucking on his Poltergust on the Green Clockwork Soldier. But he only got the wind-up key, but that at least exposed its heart. Luigi then proceeded to pull the Green Clockwork Soldier in. Blue, Anna, and Marshall did the same thing with the Pink and Blue Clockwork Soldiers by removing their wind-up keys.
Once all the Clockworks Soldiers were sucked in, the doors on the middle house prop opened up. The group went inside the house and to their surprise, there was a lift underneath them. That same lift took them up to the Roof.
The Roof was like any of the roofs on big buildings, they could see all of Boo Woods from there. But they weren't alone, six Ghost Guys and two Flashes were on the Roof as well. Blue and Marshall took care of the Ghost Guys, while Luigi and Anna handled the Flashes. Soon another chest appeared that had a key.
But as the quartet was going back down, Luigi spotted a ladder near a chimney. Curious, he decided to investigate.
"Is there anything in there?" Anna asked.
"Not that I can see," Luigi replied.
"Maybe we should split up again," Blue said, "I'll go with Marshall to find where this key goes and get some more Boos."
Luigi and Anna agreed to this, as Blue left with Marshall. Anna followed Luigi up the ladder where they could look down the chimney.
"It's still hard to see anything. Even with the flashlight," Anna said gazing down.
Luigi could agree with her, but he wasn't looking where he was going and slipped and fell down the chimney. Worried, Anna jumped down after him.

End of chapter!
Anna: Another cliffhanger? Really?
Me: Well, we're nearing the end. While you guys take care of the Boos quicker, I want to give the Portrait Ghosts the spotlight.
Blue: Well, at least after this story will be another 3d Mario game... I hope.
Luigi: I hope so, too. But let's try to avoid spoiling things.
