Iev POV

'C'mon Bernie.' I encourage the pup through the crisp night air, his quick paws spry over the cool concrete. I let him lead us down a few blocks, his adventurous nose darting from here to there, the quiet residential streets barren on a Saturday night.

My mind wanders, bringing thoughts of a particular lady forward; her laughter effervescent, her smile contagious. I wanted to taste her soft lips today, smooth and delicate, like a ripe apricot dipped in fresh honey and yogurt in late June . Had it not been for Varun walking in on us, I might have gotten lucky.

But that would be gluttonous of me; already finding myself here, in Calgary, celebrating my sister with her Wynonna Earp family, with Dom present. I wouldn't dare ask for any more good fortune.

Bernie tugs me back to the present and towards a small tree to complete his business.

Stepping back under the bare branches, I look up at the apartments across the way, into Dom's building. Even Bernie knows where my heart's compass points. In the din of the traffic passing by, her sweet conjuring voice beckons me nearer, a muse in my slow ear. But now the facade of the upper floors is in shadow, her apartment currently appears vacant, my hopefulness a mere dream.

Perhaps she's sitting, meditating, or maybe she's looking up at the clear night sky, her lights off to improve the view. The predicted storm hasn't yet arrived. The city not yet slumbered in a quiet white wonderland, for now allows a vista of the twinkling expanse. She could be wishing on a magical shooting star.

I turn to look up at the dark and glimmering sky, wondering if from here I might spot the same shooting star and share in a wish together with her. But with the nearby street lamp, ignited in all its glory, a view of the great beyond is all but washed out. Instead I bite my cheek, my nervous nibbling reminding me not to lose my patience and resolve. It's okay. She simply isn't home. You'll see her tomorrow evening, soon enough.

'Tuhmorrow Bern. I know it's late. I know you wanna go home now. We'll see her tuhmorrow.'Bernie looks up at me, satisfied with my self-reinforced reminder. We head back in the direction we came, Bernie anticipating the path.

Looking up as we round the corner, he pauses and turns towards something familiar. I follow his sight and catch a peek of a bundled lady gracefully stepping from a car, turning to smile and wave at the driver, her sweet lips blowing a kiss. That glimpse, a little sustenance for my dreams.

Dom POV

What a day it's been. I reach for my keys to enter my apartment. Home finally. I definitely need to sit and meditate a little, but maybe after a cup of tea to warm up and relax a bit.

At my kitchen counter, I find the little birthday card I had forgotten to bring to Kat's party. I should put it in my bag so I don't forget to give it to her. Though I think it was pretty perfect what I gave her today, or should I say what she gave me...

I knock on the partially closed bedroom door. 'Come in!' I hear Kat sing in response. I open the door to step in, peeking around to spot Kat, her body and her hair wrapped in towels, fresh out of the shower. Her legs are so long and smooth.

She's bending down slightly, holding her hair towel up while looking for something in the dresser drawers. I can't help but catch a glimpse of her ass from this angle and maybe if I lean over... nope, not leaning Dom.

'Ahmm,' I clear my throat to call her attention. She didn't hesitate in letting me enter her room, but does she realize it's me and not Ray or Iev? 'Happy birthday love!' I cheer.
