And that was the end of the war. In Naruto's opinion, though he was immensely grateful that it didn't have to continue, it was anticlimactic to the highest degree. As soon as Nagato and Konan left, Nagato with a promise to see Naruto again, the pair of Konoha nins went back to the decimated village hidden in the leaves.

"At least it's over now." Madara kissed Naruto but Naruto frowned.

"Not quite. The village knows who I am now." Naruto pointed out.

Madara chuckled quietly before kissing the blonde again. "It doesn't matter anymore. There is no longer a Konoha so therefore we are free."

Naruto's lips curled. "Free at last..." He trailed off as the both looked at the setting sun. "Free at last..."
