"May kuryente pala dito?"
Now, Dave used the same words to answer that question:
"Solar energy.
"You use technology?" Cornelia asked before taking a bite out of her coconut bread.
Umiling si Dave at ipinaliwanag, "Inspired sa teknolohiya ng mga mortal, but these panels are powered by magic. Artificial lang kasi ang araw rito sa Land of Dreams---err, Land of Nightmares---kaya naisipan ni Sandman na i-redesign ang mga ito. These 'solar panels' don't really collect solar energy, but the magic in a realm's atmosphere. Wala man tayo sa Land of Dreams, pakiramdam ko ito rin ang nagpapagana rito."
"Because the Land of Nightmares is just a negative version of the Land of Dreams?"
Dave couldn't help but smile.
She frowned. "Being stuck here any longer with you sounds like a nightmare, Dave."
"A nightmare or a dream come true?" He grinned cheekily. "Wag ka nang mahiya---"
"Nightmare. Final answer."
Aray.
Isinara na niya ang ref, thanking all the gods out there that humans invented such a useful thing.
An idea came to him. Before Cornelia could ask where he was going, mabilis na naglaho sa isang corridor si Dave at nagpunta sa kanyang kwarto. He literally took two steps at a time on the spiral staircase.
Well, three reasons...
2. You don't expect Dave to magically memorize all their names and addresses, do you?
Sandman was always against the idea of using a laptop to make their job easier, pero kalaunan wala na itong nagawa nang mag-insist si Dave.
Oh, how could he ever forget that ear-piercing voice?

June tried not be too bothered with her disappearance, pero ramdam niyang unti-unti na rin nitong nilalamon ang kanyang mga ginagawa. And the shittiest part of this is that nobody seems to care if she's gone!
Heck, June wouldn't even be surprised if the police forgot about her with their lack of assistance!
"It's like she never really existed," June concluded before taking a gulp of his beer. June wasn't much of a drinker. In fact, he has a high tolerance for alcohol. Pero sa mangilan-ngilang pagkakataong bumabalik ang stress sa kanya, he makes an exemption.
