The Eventful Reunion

-⁛-

Percy POV

I stumbled back, shaking, shaking, shaking.

What was she doing here?

Why was she back?

A million questions swirled in my mind, making me dizzy.

I crashed into someone, I didn't know who.

"Percy, Percy, hey, hey, you have to breathe," a voice said and I realized I had stopped.

I sucked in a shaky breath, wincing as pain flared through my chest.

Someone was brushing my sweaty hair out of my face and then kissing my forehead.

I realized that was Annabeth.

"Breathe, Percy, you have to keep breathing," the voice said yet again.

I realized that the person speaking was Silena. Of course it was Silena. Silena knew how big of a toll she had taken on me and she knew what to do.

I sat up slowly, clutching my chest. "What are you doing here?" I whispered.

She had been watching me with her curious hazel eyes. Drew was there too, but Drew looked more shocked than curious.

When I spoke, her gaze flickered and her mouth curved into that gorgeous smile that I had once fallen for.

"Still as handsome as ever, am I right? Did you miss me?" she asked, yet again.

"What are you doing here?" I repeated.

She frowned. "I take it you didn't miss me?"

"Why the hell would I miss you? You left me. You fricking left me!" I shouted.

It was quiet now, the other students were watching our interaction. The teachers had gone to a meeting and was no longer here.

"You still remember me, don't you?" she asked softly.

"Of course I remember you! You ruined my life! Was I supposed to go frolicking in the meadows like nothing happened? You ruined my life!" I yelled.

"Percy-"

"No, don't 'Percy' me. I knew I'd run into you somewhere. I just hoped it wasn't here. Why do you show up now? Want to ruin my life even more?"

"I was younger," she said, looking out the window at the snow. "I'm more mature now. I'm better now."

"Lies," I sneered. "You don't get to come back with some lame excuse and pretend like we're all better."

"I'm not-"

"Don't," I interrupted. "You don't get to act like we're still together. I waited for you, did you know that? I waited, I hoped you would come back. I hoped that everything you said was all lies and that you truly loved me the way that I loved you."

She was silent.

"So tell me, Hannah. Tell me truthfully, did you even love me? Or was I just a game to you?"

"I did, I really did, Percy," she said quietly.

"So you lied? You lied about only loving me because I was popular?"

"I..."

"That's what I thought. You're just like Drew. Only worse."

Drew opened her mouth and said. "What did I ever do?"
