When I Said Break a Leg... 🥺

Searing pain shot through Lonny's leg as he jumped back to avoid colliding with Jake, and he fell to his knees. It was like someone knocked the wind out of him.

He felt a hand on the back of his neck and looked up to see Jinxx staring down at him in concern.

"You good?" He mouthed, but all Lonny could muster was a shake of his head. Jinxx understood immediately and pulled the bassist to his feet unsteadily, nodding for a crew member to help him off stage.

"What happened?" Jonathan asked once they were back stage.

"Almost ran into Jake, I'm ok though. I just need to sit for a bit, I can hang out on the drum riser for the rest of the show." Lonny said, wincing in pain when he tried to put weight on his foot.

"No we can get you a chair, dude." Jonathan snorted.

They sat a chair next to the drum riser, and Lonny took a seat, waiting until the chorus to begin playing.

Andy turned and spotted the bassist, making his way over to him and rested a hand on the space where his neck and shoulder met.

"Are you ok?" He mouthed, running a hand through the ends of Lonny's midnight locks.

"I'm good." He replied with a smile, not wanting to worry the older man.

He was fine though, it was probably just a sprain like Andy had gotten on the last tour.

"Damnit!" Lonny groaned in frustration as he hobbled out of the doctor's office, having just been informed that not only did he have a broken leg, but he would have to exit the tour due to his injury.

"Bad news?" Andy asked, sincerity obvious in his tone as he stood up to help Lonny.

"My leg is broken." He replied, watching as Andy hissed, his face twisting in worry.

"She said that if I try to finish the tour, I would end up causing permanent damage to my leg." Lonny sighed in disappointment, but not just because of the situation, he felt so guilty that he was going to have to do this to not only fans, but his band. How were the going to find a replacement in such short notice?

He had managed to play two shows, but the pain had only gotten worse, so he was forced to see a doctor. Lonny had never had a cast before, but he already hated it more than anything.

Andy could sense the stress and anxiety radiating from the bassist, and wrapped an arm around his shoulder affectionately, pulling him into his side as best as he could considering the younger man was using crutches.

"It'll be ok, bud. We're going to reschedule a few shows so we have a few days to get someone to fill in for you." Andy explained with a sympathetic smile.

"But I have to-."

"But nothing. Listen, I've been in this position too, but I was a dumbass and didn't listen to my doctor so I ended up with chronic pain and nerve damage." The singer cut him off as he lead him to the car. The almost comically well timed twinge in his back reminding him of his own stupidity.

"We need you at a hundred percent, Lon. You'll be able to rejoin us for the festival runs, and Australia and Europe, it will be ok." Lonny nodded. He knew Andy was right, but he couldn't shake the guilt for not being able to play the rest of the tour.

Andy ruffled his hair affectionately, and helped him into the vehicle. They would miss him, but his health was the most important thing.

"Don't worry about us, Lomy. Just take care of yourself so you can come back as soon as possible." Andy reassured.

"So how's tour going?" Lonny asked, smiling at the sight of his frontman on his phone screen.

"Its going great! The guy Sumerian sent us has caught on so fast, we're really happy with him, and the fans seem to love him." Andy replied with a grin, wearing the blackbird hoodie since it was so comfortable as he layed in his bunk.

"Oh? That's good, I'm glad he hasn't had any issues learning the set." Lonny nodded, though a insecure part of himself couldn't help but notice how easily he was replaced in a matter of days.

Andy nodded, but notice the way his smile flickered slightly. "I miss you, man. Tour isn't the same without you." He added, with a gentle smile.

"I miss you guys too, but I'm sure tour is fine without me." Lonny joked, but apparently Andy didn't find it as funny since he frowned.

"You're the reason I wanted to keep touring, Lonny. It's definitely not the same without you." Andy said with an eyeroll, earning big, genuine puppy eyes from the bassist. "Stop it." He groaned, making Lonny's brows furrow in confusion.

"I'm not doing anything though?" Lonny defended with a frown.

"Don't give me fucking puppy eyes, you dickhead." Andy said with a huff, making Lonny laugh.

"I wasn't even doing it on purpose!" Lonny chuckled, drawing a pleased smile from the singer.

"Yeah, yeah. Sure." Andy snarked, a playful glint in his perfect eyes. "I hope you know that when I said I missed you, I was just referring to myself, like the guys miss you too, but I specifically-."

"I know, Andy." Lonny smiled, cutting off the singer before he could start rambling.

"Ok good, because I do... a lot." Andy said, emphasizing the last word. He was grateful the lighting in his bunk was so poor, effectively making the soft pink that painted his cheeks at the admission.

"I miss you too, Andy." Lonny replied softly, unlike the singer, he was in his well lit living room, so the soft flush stood stark against his pale skin.

"Is it hot in Canada? Your face is a little re-."

"Yeah, I'm just warm!" Lonny cut the singer off quickly, making him giggle adorably, his nose scrunching in amusement at his bandmates embarrassment.

"You're the worst." Lonny groaned, turning his phone away so Andy couldn't see his face.

"And you're cute when you're flustered." Andy replied.

"What?" Lonny asked in surprise.

"Nothing." Andy hummed with a grin. "I need to go, we're about to start soundcheck."

"Wait you can't just say that and-."

"Bye, Lonny. I'll talk to you later, love you." Andy cut him off, trying not to laugh at the bassist's obvious frustration as he ended the call.

Lonny stared at his phone, opening and closing his mouth a few times before he groaned, dropping back against his couch.

"I hate that man, I really do." He huffed.
