Andy was standing backstage at the very last Warped tour show, the sun beating down on his back as he stared out at the sea of fans on the beach. His friend, Juliet was currently performing her set, and he was watching, smiling at her commanding voice, and magnetic stage presence.
His heart felt heavy, and he felt nauseous. Last year was hard, but there was always hope for shows for the thirtieth anniversary, so it didn't feel like it was really over.
Now it was.
Andy didn't grow up dreaming of grammys, private jets, and red carpets. He dreamt of Warped tour. He dreamt of being behind that fence where the buses resided. It hit him like a ton of bricks when they pulled up to the fair grounds.
He was playing the last Warped tour.
Andy stared at his logo on the kick drum sitting in front of him, waiting to be put on stage for his set, and he wanted to cry.
That should be his band's logo, not his intials. It should be Black Veil Brides going on stage, not just him.
He had never felt so fucking alone.
His life's work, all gone because of one person.
He couldn't let this happen.
No.
Andy couldn't go one more show without his band without at least trying. He had to, not just for the fans or the guys. No.
He was doing this for himself. He was going to get his band back no matter what. Andy needed to do this, it would kill him if he didn't try.
Ever since he met Lonny, and found out he was a fan of bvb, he has spent his days asking questions. It sounded silly and borderline self indulgent, but he genuinely wanted to know why.
Why did Lonny love Black Veil? What was it about this band that was worth fighting for? Andy would listen to Lonny talk about shows he had gone to, his favorite songs, specific eras of the band, Andy almost drop kicking him in the face at the Vancouver show- yes, Andy was mortified when he found out about that-.
Lonny made things easier, he told Blasko within the first week of tour that he always wanted Lonny around any capacity. He was so positive and hard working, he made the days pass by easier.
It's not that past guitarists weren't great people or didn't do their jobs, Lonny was just different, and not just because Andy was twelve and had a crush on him. He cared about Lonny(obviously), he was such a good guy, and so sweet. Andy loved him.
Andy froze, his thoughts screeching to a halt as he stared at nothing in particular.
Well shit.
No, no, no, no.
'I can't be- there's no way I'm- oh god.' Andy thought in a panic.
He didn't know what to do now.
Yes, he did know he had a crush Lonny, he wasn't an idiot. He just didn't realize he was in love with the man. This was terrible. How was he supposed to ever face the younger man again? He wanted to hide on Juliet and Hyro the hero's tour bus and never leave. He was mortified.
How could Andy let this happen? He has always been so careful and professional! This was horrible, how was he going to handle this? Sure, he's had crushes on people he's worked with before. He liked Jake so much it made him look stupid when he first joined Black Veil, but that was just a silly teenage crush on the hot, older guy he was living with. He even liked his and Lonny's mutual friend Beau when Beau was his drummer; again, just a harmless crush.
