A week have passed, and things haven't been the same. Well... between Cecil and Caiden mostly. They both haven't moved on the incident yet. Caiden couldn't forgive his father, for seemingly apologizing in front of everyone for his sake. Meanwhile, Cecil couldn't stop thinking about the man's question to him.

In your family line, has anyone ever been a robber, or a thief before?

So? What if there was? What does that have to do with Caiden? Cecil tried his best to reassure himself, and push away the answer to the question which only he knows. But, Cecil reminded himself that he couldn't be overthinking about this just because of a boy taking a few stuff because he was jealous. Right, jealous, envious. That was far more reliving to him than hearing his son be called a thief.

Carla was by the kitchen, preparing lunch for the family. Mr Huxley joined his wife and smiled at her before helping her with her work. Undoubtedly, she have noticed the lingering awkwardness in the air between her husband and her son and she had enough of it.

" Cecil, you should talk to your son. "
" Mhm? For what. "
" You clearly know. "

Cecil sighed, while slowly slicing up the vegetables on the cutting board.

" I... I just don't know what to say to him. "
" Darling, he can't lose his father just because he made a mistake. It's been a whole week"
" Loosing me?! It's not like that- "
" I'm afraid that's not what he thinks. "
" Hey, look at him. He's okay, he's doing fine. "
" He was... always like that, no matter what. "

Mr Huxley looked at his wife and tilted his head. What does she mean by that?

"That night, after you left... he wasn't crying. He was looking at me normally, as it nothing had happened. "
" Carla what are you talking about? "
"Cecil, you told me that it was your fault for not noticing, whether he was jealous, desperate, sad, whatever. Don't repeat the same mistake again "

"He isn't happy" she continued. " And I'm not sure how a young kid can be like that. So deadly quiet, and still. "

It's like... I really don't know my own son, sometimes.

" When Caiden's happy, he squints his eyes while grinning. " Carla described.

She turned towards her husband and softly patted his back with a comforting touch. Right as he was about to walk upto Caiden, he phone starts ringing loudly, interrupting him. Slightly irked, he took out his phone and checked the ID. It's a call from work. He turned to his woman before picking up the call.

" I'll talk to him, don't worry. " He gave an assuring smile
" I know you will. "

With that he turned out and picked up the urgent call. It's the weekend, what could be so urgent?

" Yes? What's wrong Harvey? "

" We finally found a mining site and it seems like... there's many unusual stones here. "
" Really? What kind? "
" Actually, I was investigating about the artifact that we discovered and it led me to this place. I know there is something here... but I haven't found it yet. We need your supervision, Cecil. "

It's a surprise that Nikos haven't found this place before him. Maybe if he's lucky, he could collaborate this project with Emrys Inferdite Company, of course, to pay off his debt. With Mr Huxley agreeing, he hung up and turned to his wife.

" I've to go. "
" Duty calls? "
" Yeah.. "
" Okay, well, when you're back, you can heat up the food. "

Cecil walked closer to her and slowly held her hands, stopping her from slicing up the vegetables that she was working on. He pulled her closer, intertwining both their hands together to grab her attention for a minute.
