Runaway (Ch.10)

Jasper picks me up and Edward picks Bella up. They both start carrying Bella and I to the Jeep and they immediately strap us in.

"Where are we going?" Bella asks.

"Far away from Forks." Edward says.

"What?! I can't go!! My dad is still here!!" Bella yells.

"It doesn't matter Bella!" Edward says.

A few minutes later, we are driving to Bella's house. Bella runs inside to do the plan that Edward came up with while Jasper helps me out of the Jeep and into the red truck.

"Hey, you haven't said a word since we left the field. Are you ok?" Jasper asks.

I nod my head. I am scared. I don't want to loose Jasper and I don't want to end up in a hospital again.

Jasper senses my fear and hugs me. I hug him back. It is getting really late and when Bella gets back in the car, I try to fall asleep but Edward and Bella won't shut up.

Jasper notices that I'm annoyed and rubs my back. We get to the Cullens and we rush into the garage.

"Elizabeth, go with Alice and Bella." Carlisle says.

"But I'm not the blond guy's main priority." I say.

"We still need to keep you safe." Carlisle says.

"Ok, fine." I say. I go sit in the car. I start to fall asleep.

Later, I wake up in a car with Alice and Bella. I don't see Jasper and my anxiety levels rise. Is he ok? Where am I going? Will I ever see Jasper again?!

So many thoughts run through my head.

We arrive at a hotel and I watch some TV. I think I'm in Arizona.

Alice gasps and sits on the couch.

"Alice? What do you see?" Bella asks.

On a piece of paper, Alice starts drawing a room full of mirrors.

"That's my old ballet studio." Bella says.

A few weeks later. We are still in the hotel. Some nights, I can barely breath because of worrying. I have nightmares constantly about Jasper.

"Can I please call him?" I ask Alice.

"No, we can't risk James hearing you." Alice says.

The phone rings. Bella picks it up.

"Hey mom!!" Bella says. She walks into a different room.

I sigh and lay on the bed. I am homesick. I need to see Jasper again. Somehow Alice, Jasper's mate, seems fine. Alice walks to the bathroom.

Bella walks back in.

"James called. He has my mother." Bella says.

My heartbeat increases when she says James.

"I have to go. With or without you." Bella says.

"Bella, I'm not just gonna let you leave." I say.

"Then come protect me." Bella says.

"Bella...." I start to talk but Bella cuts me off.

"I'm leaving." She says. She slowly walks out the door. I follow her.

"You are going to get me killed." I say.

We get outside the ballet studio.

"Bella, this isn't smart. I'm gonna call Alice." I say. I start dialing her number.

Bella takes my phone from my hands and throws it across the street. I hear it shatter.

"Bella!! What was that for?!?!" I ask.

Bella walks inside the studio and I hear her mom saying, "Bella? Bella? Where are you?"

Bella runs over to a closet and she sees a TV with a video of her mom on it.

I sigh. "Come on Bella. Let's get out of here." I say. I grab her arm and start jogging out of the studio.

"I don't think so." A dark voice says. The blond guy, James is standing at the door.

"Let Bella go." I say.

"It's not that simple." James says.

I run at him.

"Bella! Get out of here!!" I yell.

I start fighting James with my vampire skills while Bella tries to runs out the door. James shoves me into a bunch of mirrors and then throws Bella into a wall.

I get up and tackle James. Bella starts to crawl towards the door. James throws me hard into the ground and my head hits first against the concrete. My ears start ringing.

I hear Bella scream and then glass breaks. I get up, despite the pain. I notice that Edward jumped through the glass. I start helping him fight James.

"Elizabeth, run!" Edward says.

"I'm not gonna let you fight him alone." I say.

James throws me into a row of mirrors and the glass gets stuck in a bunch of parts of my body. I scream from the pain.

Everyone else runs in and helps fight James. I get up again and run to Bella.

"Is she ok?" I ask.

"She got bit." Carlisle says. "Are you ok? You are completely soaked in blood."

"I'm a little dizzy but I have more blood than other humans." I say.

I fall to the ground as the dizziness gets worse.

"J-Jasp?" I whisper.

Jasper runs over to me.

"Ellie?!" He starts panicking. "I can't loose you!! Not again!!" He says. He runs his fingers through my hair and I can see him resist my blood. He sits me up against a wall.

"Sis, look at me." Jasper says.

I try to focus on his face but my eyes keep drifting.

"I'm trying." I say. "Everything hurts. Can you distract me?" I ask.

"Of course Ellie." Jasper says. "When we were both at our 9th birthday party, did you know that our mother took us to the water park? She saved up enough money and we had so much fun...." Jasper keeps talking but my ears start ringing loudly and my vision starts fading.

I black out.

I wake up in the hospital. My heartbeat races right away and I sit up. I look to my left and I see Jasper. I hug him tighter than I ever had before and I start crying.

"Shhhh, you're gonna be ok. I'm here." Jasper says.

I cry in his arms for what feels like hours.

"I-I'm so sorry." I say, still crying.

"Sis, it's not your fault. Bella said that she kinda dragged you into it." Jasper says.

Jasper lays in the bed with me and I lay my head on his chest.

"I love you Jasper." I say.

Jasper kisses my on the top of my head.

"I love you more." Jasper says.

I laugh a little and hang out with my twin. It feels so nice to hear his voice again, to be in his arms again. I don't want Jasper to leave ever again.
