Y/N's POV:

I glanced down at Bowie who is perfectly fine but then I hear a snap and I instantly look back up at an angry woman. "Hello! Are you listening?!" She stands with her hands on her hips and I sit straight. I have been sitting on this couch for a whole hour listening to Madison rant BECAUSE BOWIE FREAKING RAN AWAY FROM ME WHEN I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH MY BOSS.

But then my phone died and I was left to find Bowie on my own, I still can't believe he ran. Why? I don't know why, he wasn't chasing shit but man he. Can. Fucking. Run.

"I don't think you understand how I felt when I come home to neither of you being here, then I get told that you're running around the city AFTER BOWIE!" She gets close to my face and I can smell the anger fuming off her. I wasn't scared of this, I'm just terrified about what she can do to me. "He's fine Mads look at him, he's breathing and here. At least we're both here and alive I could be out still right now looking for him but I'm here." I try to defuse the situation but her eyeballs look like they're about to pop.

The veins in her neck and forehead pop and I swallow slowly. Here it comes. "SOMETHING BAD COULD'VE HAPPENED TO HIM, he could've got kidnapped, or ran over, some stranger could've picked him up, what if his collar got ripped off or broke? Then what no body would be able to contact us." The 'What if' questions have started, joy.

"What if another dog got to him and started to fight him? What if he never found his way back? What if someone saw him and bred him with another dog that means I would never know if I would be a grandma? What if he ends up in a dog gang and starts chasing people, or the dog mafia, I mean what if someone entered him into a dog fight he could be hurt in more ways than what I know? What if got another dog pregnant or-" She rants.

The dog mafia, THE DOG MAFIA?! I watch her pace around the room and Bowie looks at me with zero guilt and I squinted my eyes at him. "Dogfighting is a real thing Y/n and it's illegal might I add and we both know that Bowie would be able to go up against those dogs, he's too much of sweetheart to go up and fight to the death." She storms up to me placing her hands on both sides of my face.

"FIGHT TO THE DEATH!" She connects our foreheads together, not in a cute way, she might be able to squeeze my head like it's nothing. "Madison you need to chill." I remove her hands from my face and I stand up patting my thigh Bowie gets up walking towards me.

"See look, he's okay. No fight to the death, no children. He's not wounded and look-see his collar is still on including the litter heart tag. And, and there's no sign of dog mafia anywhere." I tell her attempting to move Bowie enough to show her that nothing is wrong with him but she only looks more pissed.

I glance down at the golden dog who still thinks he did nothing wrong WHEN HE IS THE ONE WHO RAN! "What did you just say to me?" She asks calmly crossing her arms over her chest. I sigh stepping closer, "Just to chill for a little be-" I stop mid-sentence realizing the one word to end the entire world.

'Chill' Mental note, never say that word.

I see her fuming and a sudden shove comes to my chest making me stumble back. "Are you kidding me! Y/N fucking L/N! You want me to chill? Bowie got lost and you want me to chill, I'm sorry but do you not care at all!" I watch tears start forming in her eyes and I feel the guilt settle into every fiber of my being.

I quickly grab both of her hands but she pulls them away then turned away from me which sent a straight dagger to my heart. "Of course, I care Madison, I care. I care a whole lot." I get in front of her but she doesn't look away hiding her hands in her sleeves as she wipes under her eyes.

"It sure doesn't seem like it." She mumbles and I slowly fall to my knees. I don't like seeing her upset to the point of crying, it breaks me but this is my fault. It hurts a lot more. "I swear, I swear Madison I would never let anything happen to Bowie, I couldn't let anything happen to him. You know how good of a dog he is even on walks. I'm not trying to make excuses but I had to pick up the call from my boss." She slowly starts turning away again but I got in front of her again still on my knees.

"He's never ran away before, I look away for two seconds and he goes. But I went after him, I ran right after him not letting a second go. My phone died as I was tracking where we were going but I kept going, I didn't ask for help in fear that I'd lose him a second time and if something were to happen I don't think I'd be able to face you like I am right now." I lean back on my heels trying to think of what else I can do.

"I was scared." She finally looks at me and I scramble back on my feet, I reach out for the hands once more this time she lets me hold them. "I didn't know what happened to either of you if you were coming back or not. I only found out through a friend that you were off sprinting after Bowie and I got mad. I was mad." She sniffles pulling me close to her and I wrap my arms around her.

I kept my head on the top of hers and I see Bowie look at both of us. "My mind jumps to the worst sometimes, I called. I texted and I didn't get anything back. I waited here and then it slowly got dark and I don't know." She says into my chest and I hold her a little tighter.

"I'm sorry, I should've done something to get back to you. I am serious though about not letting anything happen to him." I pull her away to get a look at her face. "I know. I'm sorry for blowing up." She gives me a kiss and I give one right back holding her closer but it didn't last long due to Bowie trying to squeeze between us.

"Oh Bowie." Madison bent down to him and started petting him and he was enjoying the attention. "Next time don't run okay." She tells him and he looks at me, "Yeah don't ever do that again." I shake my head at him, "Then next time I'll make sure that she brings a portable charger." I hear her say and my jaw drops.

I look at her as she smirks with Bowie who is sticking his tongue out. I can't with this dog.
