Day 10. Arminius

Everyone thought Arminius was a model citizen. He had lived here long enough, talked and acted Roman enough.

It was always easy to pretend. Pretend he did not know or remember, pretend not to see how Rome treated the tribes.

His tribe. His people.

A long line of slaves crossed his path. They could be Cheruscan. Only the gods knew. They all looked the same. They all looked like Arminius.

The slaver whipped them to submission. Arminius had seen it so many times and did nothing, but this time, he stopped.

Not today, not ever again if his plan succeeded.
