Chapter 29
An Enchanting Story to Tell
I have to say Gym at school was one of the most interesting lessons at Westrow. It was the only time, except lunch, where both gangs came together. Usually they'd stay away from each other and kept to opposite ends of the sports hall. But in today's lesson something different occurred...
After getting changed, I exited the changing room alone, pulling over a grey hoddie and fixing my navy gym shorts. I shrunk down on the floor and gathered up my hair for a ponytail, when suddenly a figure comes bounding towards me. Literally, because they were sat on one of those jumping space hoppers.
It was Corey.
He must've have nicked it sneakily from the storage closet whilst Coach Hayes, the P.E teacher had his back turned.
"Alright there Rose?" he spoke bounding up and down.
Before I could reply, something hit me from the other side. It was Zack, also with another space hopper.
I looked from left to right at these two and shook my head laughing. It was never a dull moment with these two.
"Aren't you two embarrassed?"
"Er..no. These things are so much fun. Using these space hoppers reminds me of that time."
"What? Do you mean THAT time?" Corey spoke jumping up and down in the same spot.
"I think we mean the same time."
At this point a mini crowd had formed around us and a girl asked Corey and Zack to tell them about 'that time'.
If I had learned something from Zack and Corey, it was that they had the ability to capture a crowd's attention like the switch of a flick. Whatever they talked about, a mini crowd always gathered. However what surprised me this time was that members from Four Nations and The Aces had walked up to hear their story too.
"I'm telling you. I was just sitting there, enjoying my Friday Space Hopper night, when all of a sudden this sparklyness comes out nowhere. I rubbed my eyes and was shocked as to what was before me." Zack spoke moving side to side on the bouncy ball.
Corey's Australian voice continued, "The sea ghost emerged out from the lake, smoke and fog around it. The eerie women took shaky steps out of the water and made her way towards Zack."
"He's right. I was stunned still at the figure of the ghost women approaching me with her black hair dripping wet covering her pale white face."
"If her face is covered how you would know its pale white?" Will chirped in.
"Well it's not gonna be lavender purple!" Zack sniped back.
"Will's got a point though." Dixson calmly said whilst throwing a baseball up in the air catching it.
Zack ignored them both. "Anyway! Back to the story. So the monster was inches away from me and I was stock still."
"I thought she was a ghost?" Jason arrived brushing his silky black hair back.
"Ghost, monster what's the difference?"
"A lot." Will said under his breath.
"Would you guys stop ruining our story?" Zack whined.
I couldn't help but say, "You guys are doing a pretty good job of that yourself."
Zack and Corey gave me death glares from either side. I clumped my lips shut, swiftly rose up from between them and moved away before they started growling at me.
