Chapter 32
A Strange Situation
Previously:
I moved to get changed before I slept in my clothes but as I removed jacket, I felt something scrunched up in the pockets. I slipped my hand in and removed a ball of paper.
I froze and dropped it to the floor.
Not another one.I bent down to retrieve it and slowly opened it.
It was the same colour and the same scripture but it was a different message.
Were you scared tonight, Miss Belle? Have no fear as tonight's accident won't be the last. You will pay.
I put my hand over my mouth and just started at the blood red paper in fear. This person was going out of their way to cause me pain and now I was terrified as to what they'd do next.
I was so absorbed in the paper that I didn't hear the creak of the balcony doors open or hear the sound of footsteps creeping up behind me.
A hand came and grabbed my shoulder and whipped around and screamed as loudly as I could.
....
The hand fast as lightening covered my mouth silencing my screams. I protested and struggled to break free of the burglar who had apprehended me.
"Rose, its me." That voice...
I couldn't see the persons face as the lamp light wasn't reaching them. The person stepped into the light. It was Axel Archer.
Relief washed over me, I was so glad it was him and not some crazed thief. So glad that I wasn't thinking and straight up hugged him.
His body froze around my arms. I then realised what I was doing and took a step back. He cleared his throat and I looked away. But then unluckily for him my emotions kicked in.
*throw* *catapult* *chuck*
Various objects started flying out of my hand aiming for Axel.
"What the heck is wrong with you?!" I hissed. "Who the eff does that? Are you crazy? What kind of person sneaks into a girl's home without consulting her first with either a text message or a phone call?!"
The next 5 minutes proceeded with me attacking Axel with my pillow, books and shoes whilst yelling at various points about how stupid he was, how lucky he was that the house was empty and what a total nutter he was for busting into someone room via the window!
"Who comes into someone house through the balcony? This isn't high school musical! Don't start singing to me like Troy did to Gabriella."
I ran out energy to hit him anymore and collapsed onto my bed.
"Ow ow ow! You know, books hurt!" He rubbed his head as he sat down on wooden box at the end of my bed.
"Books hurt? Just be glad my Gran wasn't here cause her karate chop would've hurt even more."
"Oh yeah. Wouldn't want to go near Granny Winters. Her fighting skills are the stuff of legend around here. You know one time she managed to round up 4 criminals who were robbing a jewellery shop."
"Wow really? There's so much I don't know about Grandma, it's like she lives this double life where she's a freaking spy that works for MI6. But saying that she has taught me a few moves or two."
"Oh really? I doubt you could take me on."
I narrowed my eyes still annoyed he managed to scare me, "We'll see about that Archer. Now, do you mind explaining what on earth you are doing in on my balcony at this time of day?"
