Chapter 9
The Most Beautiful Voice
The next few days of school were average. I hadn't talked to Axel since that first day. Mainly because Mr Eddison has moved us around in Biology for a practical task and I'm not sitting next to him anymore.
Most of me is happy that I don't have to interact with that jerk face anymore but there's a minuscule part of me that misses the jokes with Zack and Axel. Zack however greets me with a big, albeit flirtatious, smile every now and then.
Luckily for me, Mr Eddison had paired me up with Kyle for the practical task, which was great news, because Kyle was a barrel of laughs and I wasn't with someone who I didn't know.
I also hadn't talked to Blake since my first day but like Zack, Corey would give the occasional enthusiastic wave. Music lessons were a bit more unfortunate in the fact that Mr Senver was still on sick leave so I hadn't had a proper music lesson yet.
However, Alice and Kyle made up for anything bad in the school. They were two really good friends to me so far and whenever I was with them I couldn't help but smile at their antics and jokes.
It was ridiculous that I was lucky to have found them and that they have accepted me in their friendship group. So far though I've only talked to those two and haven't really talked there other friends. Mostly because Alice and Kyle tend to stick together and occasionally sit with the big group of friends.
Third lesson just finished and it was time for lunch. Alice and I were at our lockers.
"Let's go outside for lunch today, because I have a feeling the sun's going to feel shy in a few days and hide away." Alice said in a depressing voice.
I humoured her. "Oh really? I bet it has insecurity issues." Alice clapped her hands, a trait I noticed that she does frequently.
"Of course! It's insecure and doesn't know what for...." Alice began to sing.
I laughed and decided to sing along, "It's turning heads when it walks through the do-ooo-r. It don't know why, it's being shy but the way when I look into to its eye-e-e-"
"Never do that though because the sun is blinding kids." Alice said to no one in particular and carried on, "Everyone else in the room can see it, everyone else but you-ooo."
We both sucked in air to belt out the next lines when out of nowhere, Kyle comes crashing in from behind us and yells in our ears,
"BABY YOU LIGHT UP MY WORLD LIKE NOBODY ELSE!" Kyle then put his arms around our shoulders and kept us there. We were trapped. Oh crap.
"THE WAY THAT YOU FLIP YOUR HAIR GETS ME OVERWHELMED!" Me and Alice tried to get free from his death grip but it was too strong.
"BUT WHEN YOU SMILE AT THE GROUND IT AIN'T HARD TO TELL," At this point me and Alice had resulted to cover our ears with our hands.
"Kyle!" Alice tried to shout above him but he of course carried on like there was no tomorrow.
"YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR," he then took a large breath and we were expecting the worst but he lowered his head and whispered in a fake cracked voice, "beautiful."
Kyle then held the note for at least 10 seconds before letting go of our shoulders and coming to stand in front of us. He gave some bows and said thankyou's to an imaginary audience. Then he looked at us expectantly.
I pretended to faint against the lockers in pain from the sound, my ears still covered by my hands. Whilst Alice proceeded to cross her eyes and mumble gibberish words such as, "Can't....hear.....noise too....loud....and too.....awful....brain....dead...."
Kyle narrowed his eyes and frowned. He crossed his arms in a childlike manner and turned his head away.
"Well, don't tell me things that everyone already knows Alice, I mean it doesn't take a genius to figure out that your brain is already mush."
Alice snapped out of her crazy state and then narrowed her eyes too."What was that, pretty boy?" Kyle glanced at her, and then stuck his tongue out.
In one swift moment, Kyle took off with Alice hot on his heels, both running through the corridor. I smiled to myself then laughed when I heard Alice's voice echo from down the hall, "Come back here Princess!"
"Wow, what did Kyle do to make her that mad?" An American voice entered my now fixed hearing. I looked to me left and saw Blake looking down the corridor with a smile on his face.
He looked handsome as the first time I saw him. This was the first time he was talking to me since that first day actually, and frankly I was quite surprised so i didn't say anything until he turned to face me. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and answered his question.
"Well, Kyle was singing and-"
"Wait." Blake interrupted and looked at me with an shocked expression. "That was Kyle singing?! I thought Mr Tally had shut his hand in the class door and wouldn't stop screaming."
"Mr Tally has a high pitch scream?" I questioned curiously.
"According to the rumours." Blake and I started laughing then we heard a high-pitched 'OW' echoing from the end of the corridor and laughed even more.
"I guess Kyle got his punishment, I hope Alice wasn't too harsh, the boy's fragile. Well I've got to run now, nice talking to you again Rose." With that Blake turned and walked away.
"Bye." I said but I don't think he heard over the chatter in the now busy corridor. I didn't really understand Blake. He seemed like a really nice person, but then why was in that fight on Monday?
I continued to stuff various items in my locker and closed it. Then I saw Alice walking towards me with her head held high and a smug smile. Whilst Kyle trailed behind looking forlorn with his head bent down, he was also clutching his arm.
"What did she do?" I asked in a motherly voice. Kyle then sniffed and shuffled towards me and flung his arms around my tiny body. For someone who acts fragile, Kyle was well toned. He then pretended to bawl and cry whilst resting his head on my shoulders.
"She-she hurt my arm! The mean lady pinched me real hard, momma." His southern twang made it even more adorable. I soothed him and stroked his back in a calming way.
Alice rolled her eyes in an amused manner. Then yelled, "Enough of this charade, let's eat lunch!"
Kyle straightened his back and plastered a big grin on his face, turned on his heels and legged it to the lunch room.
I shook my head in amusement, "What are we going to do with him?"
Alice came over and shrugged her shoulders, "No idea." She linked arms with me and we followed the energetic Kyle.

Hello! I was going to carry on the chapter here but then I realised it would've been soooo long. So I spilt it up into two. Now this chapter is short by the next one is longer. And it gets interesting...
I'll try to get the next update on Christmas, If I'm not too busy
Just saying I loved Kyle's singing ;) and that I know the song is in the wrong order, but I needed it to be in order to work. Sorry to any hard-core 1D fans
Song: Of course it's got to be 'What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction'
Or if you're not a fan of that song then have a listen to 'Youth by Foxes'-I love this song so much!
