Chapter 10

All Is Revealed

We entered the courtyard, basking in the crisp autumn air. We decided to sit down under the magnolia tree where the petals were starting to fall making a bed of creamy white petals under the almost bare twisted branches.

Luckily the ground was dry, so Alice and I sat down. Kyle however sat down on the dip of the tree until he got threated by the schools caretaker with a shovel. Kyle swiftly slipped down to the floor and ducked behind us.

When the coast was clear we all dug into our various lunches. Whilst biting my apple, I looked at my surroundings. There were other students out here dotted about in the field. Then I caught something from the corner of my eye and turned to the door that led into the lunch room. That's when I saw them.

Four boys exited out from the lunch room and stepped outside. They were all different but somehow, something made them the same. That's when I realised that I recognised some of the faces as they walked into courtyard area.

Slightly leading was Blake with Corey next to him, who was stuffing his face with a Galaxy chocolate bar. Behind them was that scary boy, Will, not talking to anyone but he gave off that attitude that he didn't care about anything.

Next to Will was another boy, who I've haven't seen before. He looked Asian. His hair was pitch black and messy. I couldn't make out his eye colour but from here I could see a faint smile on his lips, unlike Will who kept his facial expression blank with the occasional frown.

They all walked to the wooden benches and took their places. Blake sat on the seat with the Asian boy, Will sat on the grass and leaned against the bench seat and Corey jumped on the bench table.

"What are you staring at Rose?" Alice asked curiously. She followed my gaze and saw the four boys. Alice gave a soft laugh. "Oh, Four Nations."

I didn't really hear her and asked the question, "Whose the boy with the black hair?" he was the only I didn't know.

"That's Jason Shin. He came here quite recently actually." Alice replied.

I just nodded my head then abruptly stopped. What did Alice say before? I echoed my thoughts, "Four Nations? I've heard that before."

Both Alice and Kyle stopped eating. What? Was it something I said?

Kyle leaned forward. "What? You don't know who they are?" he looked at Alice. "Didn't you tell her? I thought you told her already. Especially after the fight first day back."

Recognition sparked in Alice's eyes, "Ohmigosh! I totally forgot to tell you that day. I had that lunch time detention thingy and didn't get the chance."

Then I also remembered. Alice said she owed me an explanation about the fight between Blake and Axel. I wanted to know what this was all about, but then I saw something that distracted me.

The main school double doors opened. Four boys exited and stepped outside. Again like Blake's group, they were all different but something bought them together. Furthermore they were all wearing the green coloured blazers, the normal blazers turned inside out. Zack walked ahead with another boy with wavy brown hair, Zack was talking about something enthusiastically because he was doing expressive hand movements.

Then following them was a boy with dark hair, but on closer inspection I recognised him too. He was that boy that gave the evils in my first English lesson. Even though I couldn't see his eyes from here, I remembered the stormy grey colour. He gave off that 'stay away from me' vibe. Then the last person was Axel. He had his hands in his pocket and the sun hit his hair making his dark brown hair glow a bit. I could see he had his signature smirk on his lips.
