                                                        Y/N's POV

I woke up by the sound of someone snoring and the feeling of someone holding my hand. With my sleepy eyes, I looked down on the floor beside my bed and saw Carlos sleeping peacefully. One arm resting on his forehead while his hand was reaching for mine.

His hair was still in a man bun and I found it... attractive.

"Ugh! nonsense y/n!" I whispered to myself then realizing I was still holding his hand which made my face turn red.

God, what is this new feeling again?? Am I being attracted to my... freakin' cousin?? no, no no no. This can't be good.

I screamed on my pillow, cursing myself. Feeling my hand getting warmer which alerted me 'cause I might burn his hand. I slowly let go of his, trying to loosen the grip but I was pulled instead and my elbow landed on his stomach.

"What the fuck!" he groaned in pain, completely shoving me aside as he sat up.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry Carlos. I--you--It was an accident" I mentally facepalmed, realizing how stupid I sound while stuttering.

"This is what I get after comforting you?" he complained.

"Hey, I said it was an accident! you pulled me by the hand!" I snapped back.

"Okay! then I guess I'm sorry. But damn, you're really heavy."

"Are you calling me fat??"

"I didn't say anything like that."

"Well, it sounded like it!"

"Well at least I didn't ditch you for someone else." he rolled his eyes and left my room, leaving me dumbfounded. That last part did hit right on the spot.

I sat back on my bed and let out a loud breath. Looking down fidgeting my fingers, remembering the scenario. He was right, Mateo wasn't the guy for me. I was just assuming too much and then end up hurting myself.

"Mi Vida?" a voice called out from the other side of the door before it swung open. I saw papa with a smile of relief, knowing I was okay. "You okay now?"

I nod my head as I watch him sit right next to me. "I'm sorry for making you worry about me."

"Aw, It's fine. Carlos and Dolores told us everything."

"Of course they did." I said sarcastically.

"And uh, about Mateo," he clears his throat. "He's waiting outside. He said he wanted to talk to you." my smile faded at what he said.

"Why does he wanna talk to me?"

"I don't know either, why don't you find it out yourself?" he points at the door.

"Do I have to?"

"Well, depends on you. But I suggest you should go." I sighed and nod my head. Papa escorts me outside of my room as I saw Tia Pepa. I smiled at her, saying I was now fine before I went outside to see Mateo. Papa went back inside so we could talk.

He then approached me with a worried look. "Y/n! thank goodness you're here. I was worried about you."

"Why though?"

"What do you mean why? you're my friend , of course I'm worried."

"Mateo," I said sternly. "Why her?"

"What?" he looks at me confused. "I don't understand."

"Of course you wouldn't understand! I liked you, but I guess you were too blind to see that." I huffed as I stop tears from falling down.

"Y/n I didn't know. You never told me, I only see you as a little sister."

I scoffed and looked away. "Well at least you know now." that was it and I went back inside the Casita , not letting him say another word, shutting the door right at his face.

I rushed upstairs back to my room, proud of not breaking down in tears. As I opened the glowing door of my room, my eyes were met by the raging fire inside my room. I quickly closed it and looked at my hands but they were completely fine.

I went to open my door again and the fire was out, but not a few seconds later it started burning again. Fire was also forming on my feet, hands and head. I tried calming myself but it was no use, it seemed like I lost control of my powers.

"Y/n! what's happening??" Mirabel exclaimed as she saw me burning. "Wait here," she rushed to the bathroom and walked out with a damped towel. She threw the towel over my head as the fire soon disappeared. "What happened?"

I shrug my shoulders, giving her the same confused look she had. "I don't know either. I guess I lost control but I wasn't angry or anything."

She nods her head while rubbing a finger on her chin. "Your powers must be growing, like Isabela."

"What? that's just nonsense."

"It's not nonsense. Why don't we ask Tio Bruno for a vision? he might help." she suggests.

"Hmm, I don't know about that."

"Come on, at least you can have a clue on what's going on."

I sighed and closed the door on my room. "Fine. It's not like I have a choice."

She then jumps up and down. "Ooh, this is gonna be exciting."

"What's so exciting about that?"

"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe the part where the sand circles around you as it shows you the vision?" I chuckled at her silliness.

We went down to the kitchen to see Camilo with Papa, both holding an arepa on each hand. "Camilo! are you teaching papa to steal Tia Julieta's arepas?"

"Huh?? wait-- no no no. He suggested it first." he points at papa.

"He's lying." papa shook his head. I rolled my eyes as I went over to his side.

"Pa," I called and his head turned towards me.

"What is it Mi Vida?" he asks while munching the arepas.

"I have a favor. Can I have a vision?" I ask in which he choked on his food. Mirabel hurriedly passed him a cup of water.

"Say what now? why are you asking me all of a sudden?" he placed the remaining arepa back to the plate.

"Earlier, my powers were going haywire and I couldn't seem to control it. It must have some meaning."

"Still not a good reason." he shook his head.

"Aw come on, por favor, It's for you lovely daughter." I shake his shoulder violently.

"Okay okay, I'll do it." he sighed, fixing his ruana. "But no more visions after this, alright?"

"Hmm, sounds unfair to me, but okay."
