Spencer Reid One Shots

Should have Answered

An: Another short one. I realized that I went through a stage of just writing small little stories.

You and Spencer never got much time alone. You all were always away on a case. You didn't tell the team about you and Spencer because you didn't want to. This was your secret that the both of you wanted to keep. You had just finished a long night of fun, if you know what I mean, and you both passed out in bed.

Third Person POV:

The team had tried calling Spencer's phone but he wasn't answering. That was unusual for him. You weren't answering your phone either. So, Derek, Emily, JJ and Penelope loaded into a car to go find you two. Hotch and Rossi stayed back to hold down the fort while the rest of the team went out to find the missing teammates.

They decided to head to Spencer's apartment first. When they knocked and there wasn't an answer they used the backup key under the mat. You and Spencer hadn't woken up yet. The knocking wasnt that loud so it didn't wake you up. The four teammates made their way through his apartment. They all, minus Penelope, had their guns out.

When they rounded the corner everyone's mouth fell open. There both of you were, sleeping soundly. You were both obviously naked. Luckily nothing was shown, the covers were doing their jobs. Derek couldn't hold in his laugh anymore, causing the rest of the team to laugh too.

Spencer groaned, his arm tightening around you. Once he realised that the team was standing in his room he pulled the blanket over his chest, making sure to cover you too.

"What are you doing here?" Spencer yelled.

In doing so it woke you up. You had yet to notice the team, curling up into Spencer.

"You all were not answering your phone so we thought we would come check on you all. We didnt think we would find this." Derek explained.

At the sound of his voice you shot up in bed. You held the covers to your chest to keep the team from seeing anything.

"How did you all get in?" You asked.

"The spare key." JJ answered.

"How long has this been going on?" Penelope asked.

"Umm, 8 months." Spencer answered.

"Hate to be the party pooper but we have a case and Hotch is waiting for us to get back." Emily said.

"Don't think we aren't talking about this later." Derek said.

With that they left. You groaned and buried your head into Spencer's shoulder. Spencer started laughing, bringing his arm around your shoulder. You whined and slapped his chest.

"This is not funny." You said.

"I think it's hilarious minus the embarrassment." Spencer said.

Once the four team members got in the car they shared silent looks. Then they burst out laughing. For them to be profilers they did not see this coming. They thought you both were just friends.

"I can't believe we just found them like that." Penelope said.

"Oh god, me either. Now I have to think about how two of my friends are doing each other." JJ said.

"I'm glad pretty boy is actually getting some." Derek said.

Soon you and Spencer were walking out of his apartment. You both were dressed for work and you walked up to the SUV. The team all had grins on their faces. Once you climbed in, having to squish because there wasn't enough seats, they were off to asking questions.

"Who made the first move?" Penelope asked.

"Spencer. He stuttered through asking me on a date." You answered.

"What did you all do on your first date?" JJ asked.

"We went to a museum and then had a picnic in a nearby park for lunch. After that we just walked around the park, stopping to get ice cream and then headed home." Spencer answered.

"That's adorable." Garcia squealed.

"Spencer Reid, ever the romantic." Derek teased.

"How long did you guys say this has been going on?" Emily asked.

"8 months." You answered.

After that there were a few other questions, but nothing too harsh. You didn't know how to feel about your secret being out. On one hand your team, some of the most important people in your life, knew about your secret. On the other hand, you didn't have a secret that you could keep to yourself.

Once you arrived at the headquarters Hotch and Rossi were waiting for you. Once inside you all walked up to the conference room.

"Why were neither of you answering your phones?" Hotch asked.

You and Spencer looked at each other guilty. The other team members looked at each other. They all had smiles on their faces that Hotch and Rossi picked up on.

"Spencer and Y/n have been in a secret relationship for 8 months." Penelope blurted out.

Hotch raised an eyebrow and Rossi just shrugged.

"We already knew." Rossi said.

"Yeah, it was super obvious." Hotch said.

"What?" You asked.

"We just let you all believe you were being slick. You don't think you could hide something like that from an old profiler?" Rossi said.

"I thought we were doing really well at keeping it secret." You said.

"Nope, we knew as soon as you both came in with bigger smiles on your face 8 months ago." Hotch said.

"Wow." Is all you could say.

With that you got on with briefing the case. You had no clue that Hotch and Rossi knew. You could see that the rest of the team was also surprised by this news. Oh well, at least you can hold Spencer's hand under the table now.
