Spencer's phone rang with a new case. You looked over at him, your 8 year old daughter sitting in your lap. He sighed and picked up the phone. You knew he had to leave but you didn't want him to. He was supposed to have today off. He was going to go to the park and have a picnic with you and your all's daughter.
"Hello." He answered.
You watched as he nodded and his shoulders sagged.
"Ok. I will be there in a few minutes." Spencer said, hanging up his phone.
"Do you have to leave again, Daddy?" April, your daughter, asked.
"Im sorry, princess. Daddy has to go be a superhero." Spencer said.
"But what about our picnic?" She asked.
You could feel your heart break at the sound of her voice. She sounded so sad, she wanted her dad to be with her. He was always gone, so much so that he has missed so many important memories. Everytime he left it broke your daughter's heart. She hated having to live without her dad most days, and you hated having to break her heart so many times.
Spencer grabbed his go bag, coming over to kiss you. You gave him a small kiss and let him kneel next to April.
"I will see you when I get home. I love you so much. I love both of you." Spencer said.
"We love you too." You and April said in unison.
You both were used to saying it together. You watched as Spencer kissed April's forehead, smiling at her. He looked up at you, standing up a little to kiss you again. He rested his hand on your cheek, his forehead resting on yours when he pulled away.
"I love you, you know that right?" Spencer asked.
"I know and I love you too. I just wish you were around more." You answered.
"I know I wish I was around more too. I just have to work, I have to make the world a better place." Spencer said.
You nodded and he stood up fully. You watched as he walked out of the house, waving to you and your daughter. You played with your wedding ring, thinking about what you could do when Spencer is home to make it worthwhile.
Soon enough you and April were at the park, her small hand wrapped around three of your fingers.
Third Person POV:
Spencer sat at the round table room, a horrible feeling to his stomach. He knew something was wrong, he could feel it. He hated leaving you and April so much but he had to do it. He was making the world a better place for you two to live. Garcia was walking into the room, carrying files for everyone. Hotch came into the room, hanging up the phone.
"We have a local case. Mothers are being abducted along with their children. Witnesses have been able to get all three abductions on video. The third one just happened a half hour ago at a local park." Hotch said.
Garcia played the first two. The first one was a mother and her two little kids. One was a boy, the other was a girl. They were loading groceries in their car when a man grabbed the mom. He talked the kids into getting in the car, probably saying he would hurt their mom if they didn't. They have been identified as the Smith family. The second one was of a mother and her son. He looked about 8 or 9, the same age as the kids from the first abduction. They were walking away from a park, and the same man in the last video came up to them, holding a gun to the mother and convincing the son to go with them.
"Both of the families in these videos have been identified. Their names are in the files. This third abduction just happened so I'm still running face ID on them." Garcia said.
