lost
that's how you've felt your whole life, whether you were lost in thought or feeling lost amongst the people around you; family, friends. it didn't matter.
your family constantly moved from country to country due to your father's job, making friends was hard for you. making new connections and loosing them, it didn't take you long to realise there was no longer any point in trying anymore.y/n huffed as she looked past her outstretched hand, the brightness of the ceiling light seeped though the openings of her hand. her other arm cushioned her head as she laid on the mattress.
sighing and letting her arm flop back down beside her, she looked around her new room.
the walls bare, she wondered if there was any point in decorating the room if they were just going to move soon again. bored eyes then shifted to the few boxes in the corner of the room, she knew that she will be getting an earful soon if she doesn't unpack.
brows furrowing, grabbing the closet pillow close to her chest and burrowing her face into the plush fabric."fuck this."

breakfast was quiet, it was always was. you ate silently, keeping your eyes on your plate. the cluttering of cutlery was occasionally heard.
"y/n," your father spoke finally, his eyes never leaving the newspaper in front of him, "we've enrolled you into the closest high school around here, your new uniform is just on the couch."
you were waiting for this, pausing your lips before opening them again, "well, my japanese is so rusty i will have a hard time understanding." you muttered while shoving another piece of egg in your mouth.in truth, your japanese wasn't half bad at all. after moving around so much, the need of learning the language became a big part of your life. in fact, months before you found out that your family was going to move to japan you had already started preparing yourself, you couldn't handle the anxiety of not understanding a word in a new environment.
your father knew this, in fact you all did, it was just another pathetic excuse card you tried pulling in hopes his answer might change. he didn't answer.
defeated, you finally looked up from your plate, eyes meeting with your mother's. she smiled a sympathetic smile, her eyes held a sad knowing look.
shifting from her gaze to your little brother, chubby cheeks puffed out, you couldn't help but smile a little at his also grim expression.hey, at least you both are in this together.
