the rest of school went by rather quickly, before the last class of day ended the teacher had announced that the class will be going on a three day trip out in the mountains next week.

"are you excited y/n? i can't wait to try skiing for the first time!" shelly exclaimed cheerfully as the two made their way out towards the school's exit. "absolutely, i heard that the views from the mountains are stunning so i can't wait!" the girl replied back with a smile.

"well if it isn't the famous ball master." a voice jokingly said, catching both girl's attention.

y/n turned her head and felt her whole face heat up again. kakyoin stood by gates of the school, arms folded across his chest with a playful look. his buddy jotaro not far behind, leaning against the wall with a lit cigarette in his mouth.

"uhh, yeah... that was embarrassing." the girl laughed awkwardly as she scratched the back of her head. kakyoin chuckled, "it was pretty funny not going to lie, and a impressive throw."
y/n laughed, not knowing what to say after also accidentally making eye contact with jotaro. maybe it was her imagination but she swore she saw the ghost of a smile tugging at his lips.

"so," kakyoin spoke once again, "we were wondering if you both wanted to work together with us on the nature studies report after the trip next week? we can take photos and notes together on the trip."

y/n and shelly immediately shared a silent look.

this was suspicious.

two super hot guys who you barely know randomly asking to work together on project together? definitely suspicious.

'almost like one of those cringey fan-fiction scenarios.' y/n and shelly both thought.

"well, i'm not sure why us but it would definitely work in our favour since y/n and i's japanese isn't best so writing up a whole report would have been quite hard for us," shelly spoke first then turns to look at y/n and asks, "you okay with that?"

"that sounds like a good plan, i'm fine with that." she shrugged.

"great." kakyoin smiled.

after finishing the last of her homework that night, y/n decided that she wanted to take another walk to stretch her stiff legs out before sleep. her body was starting to feel sore after all the exercising she did during the day.

pulling on a warm coat and the beanie her mother gifted her years ago with a cute little pompom stitched on top, she felt ready to face the world.

after slipping out quietly once again, y/n decided to explore her new neighbourhood a little more. the streets were quite as expect, a few houses still lit up with the lights on inside.
the walk was calming, she loved late night walks, it really helped clearing her mind.

a little sign that read "playground" caught the girl's attention. she found the neighbourhood playground! y/n that she was a little too old to be fooling around on the plastic structures made for children yet no one was around so she had no concerns.

jogging into the play area, it really was just your typical children's playground. a little sandpit, monkey bars and slides painted bright colours that were chipping away a little from time and the weather and a swing!

deciding the save the swing for last, she started climbing up the ladder to get to the top of the slide. she didn't realise how tall and big the slide actually was until she got to the top. "damn. is this thing really made for children? it's gotta be catapulting the kids off it for sure." she spoke out loud to herself before sitting down and pushing herself off the slide.
after reaching the bottom, the slide did end up sending her a few feet away from it as she landed on her bottom with a thud.
