I sat at the bar with Kaeya, who was very talkative. I came here for a moment of peace. "Kaeya, have you ever thought that maybe when someone, oh I don't know, isn't replying. They just don't want to talk to you?" A sly smile appears on his face. I take another shot. "I didn't invite you here, and I would've never come to such... a.. I wouldn't of come here in general. Neither would you! So just shut up and let me drink in peace." He opened his mouth. "I don't care why you're here." I let out a small huff and ordered a few more shots.

"Well, if you had been listening, you'd know that I'm here for you." Not this shit again. "You're here because Diluc's bar is the only other bar in town. After you heard of him and Jean getting together of course you'd need a drink. How could I go to my best friend's ex's bar." Best friend?

"I know you're really only here to bother me. A best friend would shut up. You're giving me a headache." The breakup between me and Diluc has been.. rough to say the least. It was bound to happen however. I'm sure him and Jean will be happy, but I'm just not over it. Even though I gave Jean the ok. Why should my pain affect her happiness, it'd be selfish. A small tear falls out of my eye and Kaeya wipes it away. "Don't touch me." He laughs slightly.

"It's almost as if you're angry at me for this." I took in a deep breath and gave him a glare.

"Because it is your fault Kaeya!" I stand up. "The fact you don't get that shows how self centered you are damnit! Why'd you have to get involved..." I take in another deep breath. "Have fun paying my tab." I leave quickly. It was only slightly his fault, but it was the last straw for Diluc. We'd be unhappy together, that's for sure. Arguing every night, sleeping angry every night. Never apologizing the next morning. Only for it to happen all over again. But the morning I was going to say I was sorry, he said he wanted a break. It was finally too much for him. How did I let things get so bad.

I head back to Amber's place. It's where I've been staying until I sort things out. I've never been more grateful for someone. I unlock the door and see the lights are off. She must've already went to bed. I head over to the guest room and set my things down. I slip into bed and try to sleep, but I'm restless. I can't stop twisting and turning. I end up getting up to get a snack in the fridge, with a very prominent headache. I take some leftover mac and cheese. I watch it spin the microwave and burn myself trying to grab the plate. I look out the window as I let the mac and cheese cool. The moon is ready to make way for the sun. The relationship failing was my fault, I don't understand how I can be so hung up over it. I set my head down on the table. I wish I could change what happened. The next thing I know I'm being woken up. "Amber..?" I say tired. I must've fallen asleep. I didn't even eat my mac and cheese.

"Why are you sleeping at the table? I don't think mac and cheese is a good hangover food. Kaeya called this morning asking if you got home safely." Asshole. He didn't need to let her know I was at a bar.

"Did he now.. I'll make my own hangover food, sit." I start making some eggs and she starts making tea, ignoring my request for her to sit. She always tries to help me, it's very kind of her. However, she's acting like a mother.

I finish scrambling our eggs and set down our plates. I look down at the mugs she's poured our tea in. She had an accident with the tea cups before I got here. The mugs are matching, maybe she'd like to make a tea set? I sit down. "How are you holding up?" Kaeya must've worried her, I'll make sure to hit him next time I see him.

"I'm fine, I just wanted a drink last night." I take a sip of the piping hot tea. It burns my tongue and throat, but I let it. It's better than explaining to Amber.

"Are you sure? I know it's only been a few months, if you're not ok seeing him with someone else that's fine." How can she be so kind and caring, when it's something anyone would be mad at me for. I looked down at my eggs.

"I said it was ok." I can hear her cough. I can't bare to look at her. I take a bite of the eggs, they're alright. I take another and another and eventually don't stop. I can't talk anymore or I'll start crying. Once I finish I start blowing on the tea and chug it down. "It's fine.. I said it was fine." I get up, not looking at Amber once, to start washing my dishes.

"(Y/N), what do you mean by you said it was ok?" She was bound to find out sooner or later. Might as well tell her now, while I have an excuse to not look at her.

"Jean came by asking if it was ok to date Diluc, I don't have any reason to say no." I wash off my plate and set it on the rack. "It's not like I own him or something." I scoff. "She only asked because she's my friend." But we barely talk, it would've looked bad if I said no either way.

"I see.." She stays silent, but she has yet to leave. It's almost an awkward silence.

"Do you want to make matching teacups?" Might as well change the subject. "You don't have any now, so why don't we go make our own."

"Teacups.. sure." I can hear her smiling. We head out to the store and buy some ceramic teacups along with markers and ceramic paint. Once we come back home we get started right away. We decided on half hearts, a quote, and a cute day and night scenery. Amber admits she's scared for the scenery one, since she's not great at painting, but I've reassured her it adds a touch of home.

I paint as best I can for this half heart. Without looking up at her I ask, "What color did you choose for you heart?" I can hear her hum happily.

"Pink and red, I'm making a striped heart! Like the trend." I look at my half heart, nothing special. Just a light pink heart. I finish mine up and set it aside.

"What should we do for our quote, and then for the saucers.." I look down at the teacups and then to Amber. She's making careful strokes.

"Maybe something meaningful, we can figure that one out last actually. I'm enjoying painting." I smile at her.

"A sakura blossom for the scenery right? Did you want to do the day or night one?" I think for a moment.

"I'll do the night one, you said you were worried so I'll take on the challenge." I set out the paints and markers before sketching on the cup. That's when we hear a knock at the door. I check my phone, no new messages. So whoever is here, is here for Amber. I see Amber on her last stripe. "I'll get it." I get up and head for the door. I look through the peephole and see it's Jean, she's in comfy clothing and looks like she's ready for a day out. I open the door with the biggest smile I can muster up. "Hey." She looks surprised to see me here, I don't think Amber told anyone, but Kaeya, I was staying with her. "Amber is in the living room." I open the door wider and step aside to let her in. She comes in, her movement awkward.

"Amber, did you forget we were meant to go to the mall today?" I look down at the paint sprawled out on the floor. She probably just didn't want me to feel down.

"The mall- oh the mall!" I'm guessing mall is code for something else then? I stifled a sigh and started picking up Amber's paint. "(Y/N).. I'll be back er.. soon. Don't wait up, eat dinner and finish up your teacup if you'd like. See you later!" It was barely lunch time, I wonder where she's going. I could follow her.. Nope nope nope. Diluc doesn't work tonight, I can finally get a good drink. I guess I will finish up the teacups.

I wave goodbye to Amber and Jean, who seem a little awkward. That's when I see Diluc, he's waiting in his car, smiling. As he looks over we make brief eye contact, to which I hurriedly shut the door. I haven't seen him smile in so long. I was making him miserable.
